We have had to sell a WC player like Coutinho to put us in this position. We have still only spent a fraction compared to City and United.

“Grounded is not a word I would use to describe your fans - I don't think I've ever seen a quietly confident Liverpool fan, only ones who get way ahead of themselves and try to shove it down other fans throats”
Are you saying this because we think we’ll finish above Arsenal? It’s not a ridiculous prediction to make. You were miles off the top 4 last season. What makes you think that bridge has been gapped?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because we've got the better manager.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
When you say you’ve got the better manager, what do you mean. Better than who?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry, what? I'm an Arsenal fan. I was responding to a Liverpool fan. Who do you think i meant?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That’s why I’m asking for clarification.
So you think Arsenal have a better manager than Liverpool?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I didn't really think this point was up for debate, tbh.

If ya got it spend it, why not, better seeing the cash on the pitch than in FSG's account.
Would like to see more done on ticket prices too with the cash coming into the club, to be fair they've done soem good things in this space like the local tickets for very cheap but more can and should be done.
Rail seating and expand the Anfield Rd end too.

Well we'll see wont we. Could be the next Rafa, could be the next Martinez. I suspect he'll be gone by March but thats just my opinion.

Emery did well at Sevilla in the Europa League no doubting that. But why couldn’t he push them to qualify for the CL via the league places in Seria A? He was also in charge of a PSG side that’s been walking the French league of late but only came away with one league title in two seasons. Wasn’t it also expected of him to push PSG on in the CL which he failed to do.

Considering the huge amount of investment and talent brought to the Liverpool team. Surely there is a lot of pressure on Klopp now? If he doesn't mount a serious title challenge, for example, will he get the sack?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Think he will put that pressure on himself Edin, I hope as we have recouped so much in sales that the owners are not win it or you're gone, but with the level of the squad now I hope we can kick on from last season and go far in the CL again and close the gap on City.
I think more teams will be willing ot have a go at City this year, only us and Spurs actually had the balls to take them on and they can be got at. Like they're brilliant and all but lots of teams were too scared of them and just tried to be super compact, use that space they leave in behind and they can be got at.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We put the fear of God in teams.
Even Liverpool almost caved in at Anfield when they started delaying tactics.

I'm not talking ourselves up. In fact i didn't even say we would say finish above Pool. IMO, we won't.
But you extrapolated last season's (actually the last 3 seasons) shambles with Wenger's squad and made the assumption that Liverpool would easily finish above Arsenal, without the possibility that Arsenal now have a better manager with a better squad.
Liverpool have a better 1st team and better squad of players than Arsenal, but i would still say our coach is comfortably better.
He will have more money and a better overall squad at Arsenal I would argue.
It could all go wrong of course but the PL could also suit him and he could kick them on.
If it goes well and he clicks with PL football I think they will do well next season, he clearly has talent as a cup manager.

You do have many sides beaten before they play, like Fergie's united used to, but we showed you that there is plenty of areas that can be exploited in a Pep side, beating you 3 times in a single season.
The same can be said of us of course, play a low block and defend very compactly and we can really struggle.
It's just my opinion but I think more teams (especially the top 10 sides) will be more willing to have a go and look to punish the space you leave open with the high full backs, also press City high and they can struggle to play the ball out.

Great bit of business from Roma, tbh. They were mugged when Liverpool got Salah on the cheap and were determined to take the buyer of Allison to the cleaners. Monchi doing great stuff
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sounds plausible.
Is this a world record fee for a keeper ? Don’t forget Liverpool set a new record fee for a defender last season as well. Is the Coutinho money supposed to pay for the GK as well ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It does pay for the GK....!?
Coutinho= £142M
VVD= £75M
Alisson = £67m (if it happens)
If Liverpool win anything now will this mean Klopp couldn't do it without the aid of a chequebook?
Nothing wrong with it. Just changes the perception of the man and his values.
The PL game when we came back from 4-1 to 4-3.
You could feel the tension we put you guys through looking at the faces on the stands.
----
True for sure, was really worried in that game, think we're a more confident side defensively now and VVD has really added to this.
Put a new keeper in the mix who is more confident that the current one, the 2 young fullbacks more experienced and the partnership of VVD and Lovren having had more time together and hopefully we're not as fragile as we were in the last few mins of that game.
