That's a sensitive issue with people like myself that work night shifts every so often. People are entitled to build and make noise from 9am onwards as they shouldn't have to put there day on hold for night shift workers to get sleep. I do believe in informing neighbours of building work etc on the chance they have babies or young children or themselves work night shifts to give them the chance to make arrangements. Ive been on the other end of the argument, I used to work as a garden maintenance worker and I was given a load of verbal from a woman who had been on nights after I started up my large strimmer, I said you've been paid, now I need to get the same.

I too workshifts, 6-2 and 2-10, when I'm on 2-10 I generally get up at about 9am, only a bloke 3 houses down has got a log burner and he's out chainsawing logs at about 8am, probably because he's retired, he saws his logs, washes his cars and mows his grass almost every day
