Spurs Players Complain of Tiredness

I don't mean to go on about it but knowing that janssen, Sissoko, Dembele, Rose & Toby were all up for sale we chose to price them out of moves and then proceeded to plead poverty when it came to signing new players.... Just a total f*cking shambles. We are a shambles of a club esp when Levy sends flunkies out in front of the press to say the stadium had no impact on transfer funds and that there was nobody out there capable of improving the first 11..... Total dog shlt. But oh by the way we are gonna lie about the stadium, take your money coz Dan pays himself 6mln a year.... I'm disgusted with Spurs right now. The level of stupidity & arrogance from everyone involved at the club makes me sick

So Moutinho revealed he actually signed for us under AVB but it was a few minutes over the deadline

ive said it for ages, but international is facking rubbish. all it does is fack things up for spurs. spurs pay the players wages and then get facked up the arris by international football

asia cup ffs. fack off. straight after the world cup. what a load of nonsense that is. so we pay son however much a week, and he spends his whole off season playing for another team apart from spurs risking injury and getting tired and missing games. meanwhile dele alli is the latest player injured on international duty.

meanwhile England achieve absolutely fack all so its pointless, and then fack players up for spurs, so we end up achieving fack all too, after a million pounds of wages goes down the drain, plus all of our ticket money.

sooner the plug is pulled on international football the better.

Not only did we have the most players in the World Cup, but we had the most that went the furthest. The majority of our team played the maximum possible games in the world cup.

Son did it to become exempt for Military Service though so that is a bad example.

walker for 2mill, bale for 8mill, lloris for about 15mill, dembele 15mill, modric 17 mill, vertongen 11 mill, toby 11 mill, eriksen 11 mill, dier 4 mill, I mean the list of ridiculous deals that levy has done goes on and on doesn't it...

lucas moura 25mill.. looking like an absolute snip. 22mill for son, likewise. berbatov was about 17mill.. defoe was what, 15mill? another bargain tbh... Robbie keane, edgar davids, danny rose, the list literally goes on and on and on and on...

even adebayor scored a fack load of goals for the 5mill he cost.

but that's right, just focus on the couple of screw ups instead of the good stuff

Yeah he is overrated in that regard. You want him at your side when you need to sell a player, and then nowhere near when you want to bring somebody in.

The ridiculousness of leaving things late is a lesson he should have learnt by now. I don't even understand what actual benefit it has. Is it arrogance? Laziness? Thinks he can still find bargains?

I may have been a bit knee jerk there as he has found us some good deals. At the same time there is so much frustration there with the timing and often unwillingness to pay what we need to.

There are always going to be examples of cheap signings who are doing well because that's what Levy looks for most. Doesn't mean he doesn't get it wrong often as well.

Wouldn't say they were bargains at the time though to be fair in terms of price, seems the going rate for most of them for when they bought.

Only ones you got for cheap based on what has achieved were probably Eriksen and Lucas.

Highlights good scouting though.

You have a point but to be fair there wasn't a ton of competition for a lot of those players thus explaining the prices paid. The fact they look like such good deals is more a consequence of a now inflated market and how many of those guys have improved under Poch. I think the scouting at the time and Poch deserve more credit than Levy. Lets be honest, he has a price point where he will always play but sadly that price no longer gets you a game changer that might take us to the next level. His policy on salaries has probably had a greater impact in terms of holding us back from taking a step to the next level as much as anything. His moral stance on inflated prices is totally hypocritical a very outdated I'm not saying he's the worst but I think his rep for the way he behaves pi55es of rival clubs and that in itself hurts us.....Its what he doesn't do as much as what he does that annoys me

Before anyone starts about how I should be grateful for him building the stadium.....I doubt for a second he'll spend the extra rev it generates on the team..... I think he has ZERO credibility with the fans right now and until he proves otherwise, he deserves nothing more

the problem with this argument is that the simple facts are that when levy came in we were shiiiiit on and off the pitch... and now we are good on and off the pitch... very good actually... just having a bit of a bad time.

therefore, he still rightly has a lot of credibility because of how he has built the club up.

too many spurs fans with very short memories round here.

Levy is a very good negotiator to get us to the 'top 4' level; but has shown he hasn't got what it takes to bringing in those final few key components to make us trophy winners/regular challengers.

this is probably a fair assessment. infact, its hard to argue otherwise, as we haven't kicked on.

that said, considering that we were light years behind the "big 4" when he came in, he has climbed a mountain to get us where we are now. back to back prem defeats seems like a disaster. pre levy that was quite routine.

comment by Chronic (U3423)

also, before he came the mindset at this club was rotten from the core. from the players to the fans we all had a loser mentality. a bit of good attacking football and a win against arsenal was a good season.

that's probably his biggest achievement, dragging us out of the rut of mediocrity that was poisoning the club.

Levy has been the best thing that has happened to our club in the PL. Yet he probably isn't committed to do what it takes to take us to the next level. Which is why it may be best for all parties for him to sell up after we finish the stadium.

I really don't think this is the case. I do think however he is a business man first and Spurs fan second.

Plus, to be honest, he is pumping more than enough money into the business currently - not his fault about the stadium.

"I do think however he is a business man first and Spurs fan second."

He is most definitely this.

We have some super rich owners in this league and I'm not a big fan of how their clubs have quickly leapt over others, but you get the sense that they do want to see their clubs win silverware more than generate money. Probably understandable given how much of it they have already. With Levy it does feel like it's the opposite. It's the kind of person he is from the way he conducts business. As you have said, I don't think there is that extra ambition to take us to the next level up.
