AJ v Povetkin Fight Thread

Of course Hearn wants a deal for Wilder in April now. Hearn has been building up this mega fight for AJ in April for ages now. If he doesn't get Wilder he will look a bit silly.

If Fury beats Wilder they will have a rematch in the UK and AJ will be out of the picture for longer.

-----------

personally I see Fury vs AJ as the bigger fight... sells better and a bigger world interest... Fury is bigger in the US than Wilder is - if the Wilder / Fury has a rematch it opens it up for AJ vs Whyte in April... then the big one next October.

Regardless you can’t take your eye of the ball. This is Wilders biggest fight and he doesn’t care about Eddie ultimatum.

Desperation from Hearn demanding the Wilder fight has to be made before December. The only thing Wilder and his team should be focusing is on taking on the Gypsy king. Two of the best heavyweights fighting each other but Hearn wants a deal to be made before this fight

Fury isn't even top 5 at the moment. Based on his last two fights, he'd struggle to be in the top 10.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Could say the same about Wilder though to be fair based on his last 40 fights, fought nothing but nobodies

Only name on Wilder's record is Ortiz and even that's questionable, some fat 40 year old cuban with the speed of a snail who fought absolutely nobody himself apart from dave allen

He just setting up a ducking excuse.

No fighters should ever look too far ahead, especially when they are up against fighting the lineal world champion next.

All this signals is that Hearn and Joshua are ducking again.

Wilder just need to get a few more years older and slow down a bit more

If you knew anything about boxing you would know the names of Malik Scott, Bryant Jennings and Tony Thompson.

Hearn signed or up Ortiz so Joshua could duck him as well.

Ortiz was also 38, younger than Klitschko and PEDvetkin.

How is Fury bigger in the US than Wilder?

Don't think it's Joshua that's ducking tbh, think he's probably getting a bit annoyed at the Hearns. Every fight the pressure adds, for me how much i liked AJ waned a little with all the Hearn rhetoric about deals/splits/signed contracts etc and it kinda clouded my opinion of AJ as he's generally not in media bar fight week/2 weeks out. Thoroughly enjoyed Sat and thought AJ spoke well after. Hearns job is to get the fight AJ wants and it'll be interesting if that fight doesn't happen next to see how AJ reacts.

Talk is cheap. Joshua can tell Hearn and demand that he wants to fight Wilder, but all he does is make excuses.

They are waiting for Wilder to get old, and that isn't too far away. The guy is 34 next year.

AJ had a mandatory title defense, how exactly is he supposed to fight Wilder/Fury when he has that fight to take care of?? Now he's done that he will fight the winner (probably wilder)

posted on 26/9/18

How do you know he hasn't done this? Willing to give AJ the benefit of doubt. Hearns are the issue imo, AJ has just signed a new deal with them though hasn't he?

So why have negotiations?
Why make the offer and say Wilder has to fight you in the UK.

They are already making excuses

10 fight deal a while back, think 3 fights in, 100 millions.

Hearn is just going to feed him tomato cans and milk the cow till it's dry.

Malik Scott, Bryan Jennings and Tony Thompson ffs are you serious all 3 are $hit, didn't chisora KO scott in like 5 rounds as well

posted on 26/9/18

Whyte, AJ and Fury all have much better resumes than Wilder and that's a fact, it's not even a debate. Wilder has fought literally nobody, just $hit boxers or old boxers that's all he has fought.

Malik scott, jennings, ortiz and tony thompson ffs talk about scraping the barrell

posted on 26/9/18

Even Chsiora has a better resume at heavyweight than wilder

posted on 26/9/18

To be fair to Chisora that sound quite harsh as he has got one of the best resumes from a fight perspective just not a win perspective, has fought literally everyone, Takam, Vitali, Haye, Fury x 2, Whyte, Helenius, Pulev. Even your guy Malik Scott. Why can't Deontay fight any of them? Why has he always got to fight fat people who aint fought for about 2 years or old people

I don't love AJ, but to even put Wilder's resume in the same league and his, Whyte's or Fury's is up their with some of the biggest $hit you have ever spouted D4, and you talk $hit daily. One of your most embarrassing posts yet, stil laughing at you trying to drop malik scott, jennings and thompson ffs

D4... just a simple question, please just answer it..

Why would AJ spend years collecting belts.. taking all the big fights out there for him then to duck Wilder?? - the last belt holder, who, you could argue that isn't as proven as Parker / Vlad etc etc..

It just doesn't make sense.

D4 you don't have to be a Eddie Hearn or AJ fan to appreciate what AJ is doing for the sport. 22 fights in with 6 world defences already. What was Wilder doing 22 fights in? Probably fighting in a hotel somewhere with less than 3000 people. He already has Takam, Klitchko, Whyte, Parker, Povetkin and Molina on his CV. It's quite foolish to suggest he's ducking Wilder - why would you fight someone on their terms when you're the A side? If Wilder actually had that $50m he keeps talking about I'll eat my proverbial hat.

Personally I want a Whyte AJ rematch. Dillian has improved massively since that knock out and has come so far. I'm a Whyte fan and would love to see him knock AJ out. For the record and many may not agree but I believe Dillian can knock Wilder out too.

Oh damn!...D4 put on blast. And the AJ hate Train due for arrival any minute now...
Imma get the 🍿!

The facts are Wilder want to fight Joshua.
Joshua doesn't want the fight, and has already ducked once, and looks ready to duck again.

Wilder is already on the slide, how much further does he have to fall till Joshua grows a pair?

Because those other fighters were not a risk.
Charles Martin is d level fighter.
Parker is decent c level fighter, but not really a puncher and it was a Hearn ref who would not let Parker work on the inside.

His best win is against a 41 year old Wlad who did not fight for 2 years and who last got schooled by Fury in his backyard

how are these facts though? - you mean its a side of the story you chose to believe?
