Tbh Wolves’s paltry following on social media shouldn’t really be a surprise. Spent last summer in Hong Kong and no-one out there knew who you are. In a world where PL is king I would have expected some recognition of Wolves existence but couldn’t find anything. Loads of Sky 6 fans obviously, but saw plenty of fans of other English clubs including Albion as well.
Remember speaking to a few locals during the World Cup. Knew all of our players and the damage done by our previous managers. Even went to the pre season games there vs Liverpool the year before. No mention of Wolves. They brought up our local rivals, Villa and Birmingham. Knew quite a bit about Villa, not as much about Blues. (they did remember the cup win). Didn’t even mention Wolves. Eventually I mentioned that Wolves are one of our traditional rivals and they seemed quite surprised. Didn’t even know where Wolverhampton was (had to explain it was a decaying poverty-stricken industrial wasteland outside Birmingham). Told them about Fosun, which of course they knew about but had no idea they had even bought a football club.
Puts into perspective all these grand plans Fosun have doesn’t it, when most people don’t know who you are.In terms of exposure Wolves are miles behind us, let alone the top 6.

Fosun have been telling them everybody walks around Beijing/HK/Shanghai with Wolves tops with Conor Coady's name on the back.
Sorry boys, doesn't happen. They don't know who you are.
WBA 900K+ followers on twitter
Wolves 300K.
Mind the gap.
When a team who struggle to sell out a 26,000 capacity stadium tell a team that are a division higher and sell out a 31,000 capacity stadium they are looking to expand, that they are better because they have more twitter followers; you know they have lost any argument.

Last five seasons goals.
Wolves 82, 54, 53, 70, 89 Total--348 goals
WBA 31, 43, 34, 38, 43 Total--189 goals
I think we can now put this to bed as clearly Albion have been living in our shadow for quite some time it seems.

That includes the period of time we had Pulis in charge. We're a different beast nowadays!
You're not bothered Albion are 3 times more internationally recognised than Wolves? I wonder if Fosun are bothered
Getting a few thousand less on the gate hardly matters when you have fans all over the world. You're parochial mindset is why Wolves will never be as internationally known as Albion.

No I don’t care how many followers we have on Twitter. I would only care about that if I had nothing else to go on.
Getting supporters through the gate and buying merchandise is a lot more important than someone hitting ‘follow’ on some social media site.
Much more important than all of those things are how successful a team is on the pitch and in the footballing pyramid. At the moment we have a better team, are higher in the league structure, have better prospects with player signings, bigger crowds, higher revenues, richer owners etc. Success is the way to become known worldwide and that is something we are more likely to have and you know it.
You keep clutching at your social media argument though. I know all of those facts are upsetting for you.

You would imagine a prem club getting a lot more social media clocks wouldn't you, you know, given that MILLIONS and MILLIONS more people watch prem matches than lower division matches.

Your Twitter followers is not an indication of how well known you are internationally I’m afraid. The UK has a population of 66 million. The city of Birmingham itself has a population of over 1 million. So unless you have a full breakdown of locations of followers; you cannot claim to have any global following based on 900,000 clicking an icon.
You are free to keep pretending you’re a global brand, but pretending you are doesn’t make it so. What would be a better indication of how global a club is would be paid subscriptions to a clubs TV channels, membership abroad, merchandise sales abroad etc. These are the things that will actually impact on the running of a club. I am not privy to that information though and I am sure you aren’t either.
