Really hope he's fit for Liverpool.

Can I ask you all a question - do you class Hazard as a club legend?

What in your opinion qualifies a player for that Superb?

Yup. Hazard is a legend to me brum. Best player I've seen at the club. Stayed for a significant amount of time. Our best player in a few league wins. And carried the club during arguably our most boring (not worst) years in terms of pl team, atleast since around 95.

Some conte, Mourinho and sari montns, the only reason to go at times(obviously I'll go regardless) was to see hazard. The only spark at times in a lot of games

Interesting question Brum. I'll answer when I've got a bit more time ,

All valid points Nick and absolutely correct - but do you consider other factors?

There are other players that do not have half the talent Hazard has or had the impact on the pitch and yet I would consider much greater legends.

In your opinion is becoming a club legend determined solely by what he does at the club or also by other factors determined by their conduct after leaving the club!

Such as? This statement alone as me intrigued

But yeh for me it's about what they done at there time playing for Chelsea.

If someone conducts himself well after leaving the club for me he doesn't become a legend....he's just a nice guy - and I love having these guys attached to the club and this certainly shows for me the mentality that has been part of the club for me since the 90s

Again a valid point of which I totally agree.

But what if he leaves and subsequently makes comments you view as disrespectful to the club and more importantly the supporters that held them in such high esteem?

Yeh good point Brummie

But I can think of no one personally who fits this bill

Maybe my closest for this would be Jose

But I downgraded him imo from club legend due to his second stint with us more than anything

Like I said we always seem to have good relationships with players after they leave and they in turn seem to adore us

Really I think the only player who I have genuinely had a dislike for is Mr Tibo, other than that I cant think of that many who have subsequently bad-mouthed us

According to some sources Hazard has been commenting about Real fans being more passionate than that of his previous club!

Poor from him if true and makes me question his suitability for being classed as a club legend almost as soon as he's left!

Re Hazard....can't see how he's not a legend...his level of play & cups won speak for themselves

Be interesting to see how he does at Madrid...was anonymous yesterday

I think there are always going to be differing levels of legends and then personal favouritism thrown in as well.
Hazard for example, the best player I've seen hands down, but would not make him my favourite (Zola will forever hold a special place in my footballing heart).
But still hazard is a legend for me, said nothing but good things about us since he left too. Mind you reading his comments about Spanish fans compared to English fans, he could be back at us within a year! It really is a different ball game out there in terms of fanfare and it don't take long for those Madrid fans to turn toxic!

He compared Spanish fans to English. More along the lines of to Spanish people its everything but English fans get over losses etc. A sentiment I mostly agree with. He did not mention Chelsea fans just rather the difference in football following in the countries

Having read the article there is nothing there

I would say the same about Brazilians Vs English fans also in general

It's been summed up by Chelsea fan(mostly) on this board. Most aren't too fussed about this year if we are going in a solid direction and implementing youth this season for the greater good. Its basically a free hit. Madrid fans would never ever do that
