I agree Griff.

The quandary of doing well in the Championship and getting promoted, (which is great fun - long may it continue), is that the PL is bloody awful in comparison, (in terms of having a chance of actually winning anything).

But for those supporters of more tender years, I can see what the attraction is. Going on an away day to the Emirates for example, is a lot more exciting than Wigan.

More likely to see the Rams win at Wigan tho’

Scouse, Griff and Ramdini all agreed. The PL is not as interesting as the Championship. The trouble is a football team has to try to win in all games. Or there is no point in playing. So if it happens that your team wins more games to collect more league points, your team gets promoted to the PL.

Then the enormous, gigantic difference between Manchester City and United, Chelsea, Arsenal etc. etc. distorts the whole picture. And not in a good way. That is because of the emergence in the world, of fabulously rich oligarchs who amassed their wealth by fair means or foul.

It wasn't always like that. I can remember when Arsenal Chelsea and Liverpool expressed fear of playing Derby County at the Baseball Ground

And ....... as to the game. I didn't think we would win at Old Trafford but we did. We could just win at Chelsea, though they are now forewarned and will not be as complacent as United. I predict we will lose 2-1. I hope we win.

I know where you boys are coming from, I love the competition in the Champ.
But, as Rowett would say, 'the reality is', that in order to hang on to our loanees, and possibly Frank and Jody, we will need to progress in the very near future.
I'm sure we all want the current joyride to continue and not have to revert back to the mediocre stuff. Promotion is the only credible way to make that possible.
