Win the league or close the gap?

Sarri has been ok but let’s not get carried away. He’s failed both major tests he’s faced by failing to beat Liverpool and Manchester United at home. It’s likely that Chelsea will lose the reverse away fixtures meaning both teams will gain 3 points on Chelsea through head to head games alone which is very bad for Chelsea. Normally you aim to win the home game and draw the away game against your rivals with an away win being a bonus if you can pull it off. Sarri has already failed at that with 2/5 rivals.

How are we likely going to lose at a ground we are unbeaten in 8 at you muppet

posted on 30/10/18

Because what relevance do those games have to the one this season?

I bet Erik claims Mourinho didn't fail at home to Spurs though

posted on 30/10/18

Mourinho succeeded against Chelsea since he got an away point. Sarri failed in that game. Mourinho got the better of Sarri in that one.

lol so much wrong with your comment it's hard to begin.

Why have we only played 2/5 rivals when Arsenal are higher than utd. Surely that is 3/6 of our rivals?

Undefeated in all comps since the charity shield.

Normally you aim to beat valencia, wolves and spurs at home, but you can't win them all

Who are our 6 rivals?

Undefeated doesn’t mean much when you haven’t played any games which you were expected to lose

who are chelseas 5 rivals?

Arsenal are closer than utd to chelsea so they are more of a rival so far this season.

better than losing when you were not expecting to lose though isn't it.
Like utd for example.

Bro mooning, he hasn’t changed anything yet, Chelsea are still a work in progress and I haven’t seen any results this season that have been hugely impressive for Chelsea. Every game Chelsea have won is a game they would have expected to win. The games which would have been impressive if they won, they either drew or lost.

He’s hasnt done a bad job so far, but he hasn’t done a good one either

Erik's logic

Draw at home to Liverpool and United = failure

Get thrashed at home to Spurs = not failure

Fair enough, i guess no manager worth his salt would lose away at Huddersfield or West Ham!!

Why are you mentioning United, that’s not what we’re talking about

posted on 30/10/18

So 3/5 rivals played, 2 draws and a win.

Pretty good for a first season when in which you predicted we'd finish 6th and had not addressed any of our weaknesses.

If you claim Sarri has failed because he didn't beat Liverpool at home, then surely Mourinho failed against Spurs, no?

To guage how well a team or manager is doing you have to compare them to their rivals. Something that you have been doing

I still think Chelsea will finish 6th. Man Utd and Arsenal both deserved to beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, so those results shouldn’t be celebrated
