Problem is while I'm pleased Jose has gone it kind of shows that Pogba 'won' when he's been a joke for months now.
---------------
and why has he been a joke?

I'm really struggling with people here who wanted rid of Jose for playing terrible football, with god awful lines ups and tactics, yet also think certain players should have been thriving under such conditions.

The truth will out about Pogba's form over the next months and maybe years.... But the UTD of 18/19 was not a good place for any player to shine.

No doubt Jose contributed but Pogba has to take responsibility too. Pogba's performance against Saints isn't all down to Jose, didn't he make a PL record for losing the ball in that game.

Pogba's mentality has always been in question and when things aren't perfect he doesn't do anywhere near enough.

France don't get the best out of him playing the way they do, but he actually plays for the shirt.

totally different... His manager clearly believes in him and he clearly believes in the manager's ideas.

What did Pogba say?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Picture of himself smirking looking at the camera with the text "Caption this..."
....

Seriously? Utter be//end if he had anything to do with it.

But not always, Pogba was quite poor in the Euro's under Deschamps and often looked like he was sulking. Of course the right manager makes a world of difference but that doesn't take away any responsibility from the player. He should be a player who others look up to and lead them, not sulk because he doesn't agree with the way the manager does things.

Same happened with Hazard.

They are not robots. Just like you or me, if we are ostracised by our manager at work, and think they are doing a terrible job and promoting much worse employees, it's gonna be hard to just produce good work.

Anyway, he has a chance now to show what he can do. Hazard was like a new signing, so hopefully similar will happen.

But Hazard recently said that Jose is the best manager he has worked under and who he would love to work for again. Jose also got a lot out of Hazard which to me shows a player who is far stronger mentally and more wiling to take criticism.

Can't believe people can't see that was a sponsored Social Media post and not Pogba.

To the people getting giddy, one tumour has been removed and we are right to be happy. The other tumour however, is still lingering and festering. Get rid of that and maybe we can compete for the big trophies agan.

Look, there are more issues at the club than just Jose... But this need to villainise Pogba is just head scratching to me. When a manager plays dreadful football and makes decisions that lead to him being sacked with great happiness among the fans... It seems very likely that that manager caused huge problems with certain players. The guy called him out after just winning the world cup ffs.

Like I said, these players are not robots.

I hope it's a turning point for Pogba, he's an incredibly gifted player who has the potential to achieve so much. I just think he's still mentally weak and when things aren't quite right rather than roll his socks up and work hard, he sulks. Like you say there are more issues at the club than just Jose so things won't be fixed as soon as some hope.

I pretty much agree with this, although Pogba doesn't help him, self by being a prat.

No excuses now, time for Pogba to deliver.

Don't disagree but I can only assume it was a planned sponsored tweet - hence its been deleted, probably at the request of the club, you only have to look at some of the comments it was getting...

Simon Stone - BBC Sport

More details on the club's position after it decided to sack Mourinho:

The decision was taken in the long term interests of club
The club views the last few months as disappointing and unsettling. It felt a change had to be made
It is unhappy there has been no progress in results or style, despite Mourinho being responsible for choosing all 11 signings
It has accepted players and staff were not happy under Mourinho
Mourinho wanted to work within his own structure - the club will be looking to add a head of football.

Pogba needs to take the blame for some of his own performances, though. All the players do.

The only evidence of this "sulking" is under Jose though. For France and Juve, he played his heart out... Hell, even for Jose he didn't actually sulk when benched for the likes of McT and Fellaini.

He's never gonna be a Roy Keane type though... Never was and never will be.
