.... .... .....

After Don Revie Leeds demised and so did the rivalry really, only Leeds fans hang on to it. Out rivalry then shifted to the dips.

Ummm .. you obviously didn't notice Howard Wilkinson's Leeds snatching the title from your grasp in '92/'93, then ?

Spent most of my childhood living in Leeds so on a personal level it's massive - only really the Liverpool game tops it for me and that's probably because they have been closer on a competitive level.

Being at OT when they beat us in 2010 was probably my worst moment as a United fan.

And then there is this:

Huddersfield are the first team to lose six top-flight games in December since.... Huddersfield in December 1950.

The last epic United vs Dirty Leeds was 1981 when Brian Flynn nicked a winner. Thousands of skum in the Scoreboard End wearing surgical masks. Was in Stand K above them that day. They (and GMP) got a right good kicking that day.

Pretty sure SAF won it that year and Leeds haven't been in anyone's thoughts very much since then, moron.

Leeds won the league in 91/92.

One needs a brain to have thoughts. Just saying...

Indeed, you are saying it to a Leeds fan, not me.

Anyone under the age of around 45 or there abouts probably doesn’t know the intensity of hatred and violence that occurred in the 70s
The intense hatred never disappears for us oldies.
It is passed down but it’s just not the same as witnessing what happened and of course football is not the same now.

Odd, was you there?....I was!....

Saw nobody in Doctors Masks but might have missed them as I was somewhere in the middle of a bunch having a great day out and enjoying a great result!..

The most trouble I remember in the stadium was by the Strat end when Police looking like orange space invaders went in to calm it down!..

The worst part was on the buses to the station after the game when they decided to take us through a crapped up town center, must say that although a lot of windows went through there were no injuries that I heard off!..

Great goal by the mighty Flynn!..

Sad when people have to state about so called kicking's that others and Police take isn't it?..

Its funny how some era's develop a rivalry for a reason, like you all mention, in the 70s, but in the past 10-20 years its basically watered down and new young fans keep up the rivalry but for no good reason. Just because there was a rivalry once and half of them probably cant even explain why they hate each other.

I see the next team you play as your rival, its in every sport but in football its taken to extremes, there's just as much rivalry in other sports but football back in those days was classed as the workingman's sport and a lot off frustration from those people was brought onto the terraces!..

These days with the technology the Police have at their disposal only the dumb try it on!..

Yes I was there thanks. Like I say, in Stank K right above the Leeds fans many wearing surgical masks. Thousands of them. You seem to be in denial of how things were back then. Good or bad.

posted on 28/12/18

Wrong, I don't recall anybody with masks on, mind, it was that long ago, and I have a habit of forgetting whats not important in life!..

I was a bit of an idiot back in them days, not trouble causer but jumped about and sang with the rest, I think back now and think Wtf!..

I think you'll find that to me this big club small club and rivalry thing mean nothing, a club to a fan is as big as he/she holds it in their hearts and a rival is their next opponent!..

think we all jumped about and sang with the rest in them days. No shame there. We were young.. usually full of beer and mad for United. Happy days though.
