anyone have a link to the Kompany yellow card tackle on Tom Daley. Been through many highlights vids and none show it !!. Maybe it wasn't worth showing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Eventually found one, clearly gets the ball first. Yellow about right, not a great deal of contact.
Ref must know Daley's reputation of going down like a one-legged arthritic giraffe.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It was pretty reckless. Ridiculous to suggest that was a dive in any way.

its what happens if you have a reputation though, you have to expect not to get some decisions you should when you get a lot you shouldnt

He hasn't even got a reputation really. He goes down easily sometimes but there is always contact. I can't recall any occasions where he has been booked for diving for example, which would be what gets him a reputation.

What you need is the full Liverpool of old acting repertoire.

Player being touched and falling just to his knees and slapping the ground several times in pretend agony. At which point three designated players rush over to hold another back from trying to get to the tackler.

The ref assumes it must be very bad and pulls out a red. Usually in front of the Kop.

which post match is still being called as the best game ever,
-----------------------

My brother whatsapped me after the game saying it was the best game he'd ever seen.

Hyperbolic beyond belief!

It was frenetic and no quarter was given which made it a good spectacle, but overall the quality was lacking. Sane (other than his goal) and Sterling were average, and Mane and Salah didn't link up other than the time Liverpool hit the post.

I real blood and guts game and entertaining in that respect, but not high on quality.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

At last a modicum of sense. Yes it was high tempo, but the quality was poor from both sides I thought. Some of the defending was far from top quality, just hoof the ball up in the air, and hope for the best.

I have to say that Klopp resembling a scarecrow on the toucheline was the highlight for me. He would be a farmers dream in a field of wheat.

This is exactly the point, yes there was lots of desire and energy but the lack quality from the 2 top teams in the country was there for all to see.

Although its an obvious thing to say Poch is right to talk about us needing to be more consistent, when we play like we did against Chelsea we are vastly superior to anything that was on show last night.

Kompany's yellow card was no more a red card than Bailly's red card last week

I think Sky are so used to hyping games that turn out to be dull bore draws, that when one high stake game with a few goals turns up they end up overdoing it with the praise.

It was a good, enthralling game, but there have been many better.

Incorrect. I didn't like what Robertson did in the first few minutes, for example.

Hi Sandy, happy New Year.

I agree about last night's game. Wasn't a classic by any stretch. The fact there was so much riding on it made it more interesting. It was tense and grew in intensity as the game wore on due to the uncertainty of the result, but in terms of overall quality on the ball it came up short.

As an aside, good job you've got Son tied down on a long-term contract, because he'd be a major target for a lot of big teams playing at his current level.

I thought the referee had a good game, he didn't fall for any of the Pool theatrics like so many do

what did Robertson do?

Went down holding his face. Wasn't quite Rivaldo but still, not nice to see.

Biggest compliment to Pool is the fact its the 1st time I can recall Pep changing how Man City play, and although it wasnt the highest quality, it was an intense and close well fought game.

Both teams were very very close and no team was n top for more than 10-15 minutes at a time.

Still much to admire about both teams, although City should be favourites, being at home.

As for spurs V tranmere,is it really worth an article?

You cant make out City v Pool, the best teams in the country this year, was all hype but then you talk about a game Spurs will walk through in their sleep lol

Tranmere is as good as a free game if your a top 6 cub tbh.

I was glued to the game and I even done a little fist pump when city scored their second I’m not going to lie.

The real hyperbole is around the 2 greatest keepers, both of whom looked average at best yesterday.

Edersons biggest strength is that he is not Hart or Bravo. He was flapping all over the place yesterday and came within the width of a gnats pube from conceding a calamitous own goal. He has been made to look good by teams too afraid to attack City.

Allisson was beaten at the near post, yes it was a powerful strike but a top keepers positioning should mean they are not beaten at the front post. Both are over rated.
