Chelsea were extremely fortunate to be playing such a weakened team.
On the other hand we could have shown some ambition in the transfer window and perhaps the defeat is avoided. But we/Levy never learn on that front.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
To be fair though you had your best team in the first leg and we still bossed the whole 90 mins of that match.
Bit harsh to say we didn't deserve it or were lucky when we did dominate both of the legs, you had 1 chance in each match and scored both times, so fair play for being clinical but we had nothing go our way on the pitch and could of scored about 7 in each leg
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I didn't say you didn't deserve it, but you were lucky regarding our injuries/absentees, and regardless of how we played in the first leg, you know you'd much rather have faced this team that a team with Kane/Son/Dele available.
It wasn’t really a bottle job, in fairness.
Guess it will be the same again Sunday

What ?
So only FA Cup and CL to do something in now. We're running out of outs.
Spurtle, and neither of those are we going to win. Did tell you mate, I don’t think we will ever win anything

Lloris playing wouldn’t of made a blind bit of difference Sandy mate. We were always destined to lose today, like every other semi final we play in.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He may not have done Don, but purely if the opposition see the World Cup winning captain running on the pitch would make them think a bit more, than seeing a goalie, they probably have hardly seen. I know if I was the Chelsea Manager, I would be saying in the dressing room, Spurs have their reserve goalie playing, he hardly ever plays, test him out.

Indeed, though it is good for a wum.
Bottle comes into it in pens. But so does the quality of the penalty takers. Chelsea had better ones than you due to the players you had missing.

Thought he was poor tonight, but he was very very good in the first leg. And to be fair you never know what Lloris will turn up anyway, one week he's world class the next he's butter fingers

Don, I thought we had a decent enough chance. Mind you that was before all the injuries so my opinion about our chances obviously changed.
If we can have our first team back again for the CL then we could still go far in that I reckon.
As i said before, Spurs main 11 and maybe 2-3 more players are 3rd best in the league on paper for me but can also beat anyone on any given day.
But the depth is just so lacking and poor, you just need to get that 16-17 man top class squad
Very good manager, brand new stadium, excellent system, tactics and pressing ,excellent first 11. You're primed for big things, just need them final bits, mentality side and bit more depth quality and you boys are there
Just need to get that first trophy under your belts too, will help massively for everything, the confidence, the aura, the players, the club, the manager, the mentality.
You just need that first one and it'll likely push you onto even greater things.
The only issue is i'd say you probably have either this season, and next season to get it, otherwise if not then i can see some of the likes of poch/kane/alli/eriksen etc leaving.
So it;s up to spurs and levy really

Has your JA606 account been hacked Oscar!
Spurs’ core is in danger of breaking up in the coming seasons, though. Toby and Eriksen could be off this summer, Vertonghen hasn’t got many years left and they need a rebuild in central midfield. Then how long will Kane stick around? Interesting times for Spurs, that’s for sure.

Correct on both counts. Thing is, even with Chelsea having the better penalty takers, you'd imagine Spurs had a slight mental edge after taking it to penalties without their best front three and coming back from behind.

Depth of the squad is fine, but no team is going to be winning every game with their best three attacking players out. Say Spurs had Kane, Dele and Son all starting, and Chelsea had Kante, Hazard and Pedro all missing. You wouldn`t fancy Chelsea I would think.

Sandy, but you said we would be fine with all these missing and I have said to you countless times we are going to struggle and we are mate. Improvements should of been made last summer and it’s now come back to bite us.
I thought we would lose, Spurs are like an open book, if it`s not failing to turn up in big games, it`s downright rotten luck or being facked over by referees. One way or another, we always find a way to fail in these vital games.
I think Joe Cole is right in what he says, we don`t have enough proven winners with experience of getting the job done. It`s all well and good having Enic`s philosophy of buying young players with potential to develop into top players and bringing through youth, but that only gets us so far as has been proven time and time again.
And the vicious circle we are in will probably only continue this summer as we replace the experience of Dembele, Toby, Llorente and Eriksen with yet more young players.
