What's good about it? What's different to other Battle Royale style games that makes it enjoyable?
I haven't played it, but my cousin was on about it the other day. Basically described it as being 'like Fortnite but without the fckin building shiiite, and with less nobhead kids shouting their mouths off because they're all on Fortnite"
Is that accurate?
He's pretty much spot on Mike but there is also no solo, don't know if they're changing that.
I tried it and got bored very quickly, I'm not a fan of these battle royale games though to be fair.

Its a lot more mature than fortnite.
It does need more modes/fixes, but a promising start imo
Played it over the weekend and can't seem to get into it. Feels like it takes ages to kill someone.

Yeah i put 50 bullets in one bloke, he died but come on, 50 bullets.
I was about a metre from him, behind him as i snuck up on him. He turned around and almost killed me with what seemed like 1 bullet.
Im probably just crap.
My friend told me about it so I downloaded it and as some one who has not really taken to the whole battle royal genre of game I was not the hopeful about it.
However in loving it, for a free game it's actually pretty good once you get into things.
There are some things about playing I'd say.
1) it's not anywhere near as much fun, or as easy if you are not playing with mates on mics as you have to constantly talk to each other else you will get caught out
2) the player abilities can really make a difference and when playing it's really important to uterlise them.
3) to the above points - guns really do matter. Always make sure your second gun is a shotgun or the pistol which takes heavy ammo, cause up close you will get got if you don't use a pistol or a shotgun. Use those and you will be fine.
Its a well thought out Battle Royal game. The actual gameplay and what they have done is very very very good. On a general basis its the best Battle Royale out there.
You get FAR more info on whats around you on this than compared to other BR's.
You land and you are told what sorta loot is in that area, you can highlight and target ammo, armour and weapons on that map easily for the rest of your team mates as well as enemies.
Landscapes and map design are excellent lots of varied layouts suitable for multiple scenario's in terms of gunfights.
There are negatives IMO, gun play. the guns are very bland nothing really seperates one AR between another, same with LMG's. I also prefer real guns, with real ballistics etc. If i pick up a gun i wanna know what sorta weapon im dealing with ie does it take 7.62 /5.56 etc so i have an idea of the best way to use it. The weapons hvae no visible stats on them at all.
TTK seems a little long unless you have a shotty or SMG (the P90 like thing you can a mod for that makes it fully automatic is a god gun up close)
I HATE the abilities truly hate them, it sometimes wipes out any skill level distance. ie circle gets small and then someone who has a carpet bombing or mortar strikes and wins through no real skill, just cos the circle is small enough.
Im sure those less skilled loved it as bridges the gap but im just too competitive and iv a die through a cheap kill towards the end of the match i just get pretty pi$$ed off.

you have never had people using their abilities right at the end (regardless of what they are) to win a game?!?!.... I know when its gets close to end game time i keep my special ready for it.
i still think the abilities thing is cheap and dont think it should be in a game were you can only have one life and death means game over. I am a very competitive player however, i would like to see abilities nullified when you get to the end of the game.
Not particularly.
The abilities themselves don't cover that larger an area, even in the small circle, bombardment also hurts friendlies so it's not advantageous to use it in the smallest circle anyway

sorry Mattyp then your squad are not working well together... Do you win many games? (sorry cos i do realise how patronising that sounds!!)
a full squad with their abilities at the end of the game makes it far far easier to win. And if you have cover inside a building you can defo cos carnage at the end of the circle with abilities.
I play with two guys that are total BR vets, as a squad we will win roughly 1 in 4 matches.... Was once a lot higher in Blackout especially at weekends where you get more casual players playing.
just for speaking sakes one of the guys I play with won 6 solo games in a row on H1Z1 we watched him rack up 39 kills in a row lol, a 39 killstreak on BR !! dcik that he is !!
Of course i do, and yeah you do sound patranising so shut up you prīck, and I've never had them used against me in the final circle in a way that wiped out a squad or couldn't be dealt with.
I'm not saying I don't use them in the final circle, just that I've never come across them being used to completely nullify a game, this is on account that all the skills have a counter skill which can nullify it pretty easily.
How does everything become personal on these forums
firstly, calm down son, I didnt get personal and get abusive with you and if thats the route you wanna go on it will be a lonely one.
I never once said it wipes out squads or nullifys a game. You made that all up yourself what i said is that it levels the playing field out and bridges the skill gap at the end. Its a massive advantage having them come the end circle.
"I'm not saying I don't use them in the final circle, just that I've never come across them being used to completely nullify a game, this is on account that all the skills have a counter skill which can nullify it pretty easily."
You use them cos they give you an advantage regardless how much you wanna admit it. Argument done ! Thats the point i raised, people asked for my opinion i gave it, deal with it.
Fact is you said yourself that you use the abilities at the end to help you win which was my point all along it bridges the skill gap. Not something I like, you do like it no biggie.
Again, you are making out that the things they do are game changing advantages, they are not.
They give you an advantgae they dont make it "far far easier to win" as you have claimed.
Of course if used properly the can help you, that's the point, but they don have as big an impact as you are claiming by saying they level the field
And also "son" if you want to be patronising you are going to get called a prīck.
"sorry Mattyp then your squad are not working well together... Do you win many games? (sorry cos i do realise how patronising that sounds!!)"
Really don't know how a comment like that which was clearly not meant as an insult (he even spells it out that it's not intended that way for you) wound you up so badly.

no im not, from the first point i made i said that they bridge the skill gap, especially at the most telling part of the game... i know why they hve done it i would just prefer they didnt.
Im sorry but if i can use xray vision and see exactly where a guy i and where he is moving too that makes it far far easier to kill him and win.
I havent said they kill squads at in the last circles, i havet said they nullify the game i have said it levels the field. Your making up all this stuff to suit your argument, ie YOU ARE LYING to help your cause.
They bridge the gap in skill level, and this is especially telling at the end.
for eg when I go Bloodhound, if I am 1v1 at the end against say....pathfinder. Forget about it you aint winning. I will use my ability to see thro the walls and see exactly where you are what way you are facing, as well as speed my character up etc.....the tracker can use a zipline, create a zipline or reveal the last circle.... al pretty much useless in the last circles. How is that not a MASSIVE advantage to me in killing the last player??
I have loads of offensive abilities he has none.... Even if the Pathfinder is a better player i will still fancy my chances in that fight which is the point im making it bridges the skill gap.
They have done it to make it more diverse, to make it easier for poorer players to win to keep them playing.
sorry that should have said "the pathfinder can use a zipline, create a zipline or reveal the last circle"

anyway 1man i enjoy it, they have streamlined it pretty well for BR.
There is loads of features within the game that ALL BR games could learn from. But its a new game and there will be patches to help balance things out and introduce new aspects.
So they make it far far easier to win but don't nullify the skill aspect of the game... got yah, cause the makes sense.

What was the rest of his squad using?
Cause when picking his character he should have thought of that
Where are his squad?
Was it earlier on in the game or has it just happened, if so then pathfinder team mates were probably the ones who could have dealt with bloodhound.
What weapons and armour are they both using?
Can pathfinder use his grapple to get into a position he can't be shot at and wait out bloodhound beast mode.
Add to the fact that if the person using pathfinder had decided to use either wraith or mirage they could easily use their abilities to buy enough time to heal themselves or avoid bloodhound until his skull wore off and so your argument that they make it far far easier to win (AND THUS NULLIFY PLAYERS SKILLS AND ABILITIES) is just flat out wrong as lots of other in game situations have already ha a much larger impact on things.
There needs to be something else you can do, or stick around for, when you die.
I got bored way before I had chance to get good at it, because of repeatedly dying early on and going back to the lobby, starting a new game, parachuting down again. Spent more time parachuting than playing the game
Appreciate it's not like that if you get good at it.
