You can make comments online that aren’t about Manchester United, Paul. You should try it on an article about Chelsea.

If it was any other club I would say they are absolutely facked and will be mid table soon enough but because it’s Chelsea you just know they will win the league next season with John Terry and the ghost of Hitler guiding them to victory

I think it’ll be a good few years before they are a realistic challenger for the title. City have raised the bar and Chelsea are miles off that level.

But so are Utd
Since baconchops hung up his juicy fruit

2018/19 - 18 points behind 1st currently
2017/18 - 19 points behind 1st
2016/17 - 24 points behind 1st
2015/16 - 15 points behind 1st
2014/15 - 17 points behind 1st
2013/14 - 22 points behind 1st

Averaging around 20 points off the top

Those stats are incredible seeing the size of Man U and their spending power.

Higuain doesn’t look any better than Morata either.
----------------------------------------------------
Not true. A lot of our strikers down the years have had the excuse of not getting the service (in some cases it was true) but that's 100% the case with Higuain.

He doesn't contribute much to the build up but that's not who he is, we knew that going in, but there's nothing wrong with his movement. I love that quick turn he does on the last defender, he reads the line/pass so well. Very elegant player.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Really DDA? So why do they have similar records with us? And why was Higuain’s scoring so average at Milan while Piatek is now banging them in? Higgy has had a few chances in good positions that he has missed, the same as Morata. I agree we are not a team built for strikers but why doesn’t/didn’t that count for Morata and Giroud and not for Higuain
----------------------------------------------------------------------

KK, you can't seriously say Higs is as poor as Alvaro
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Their scoring rate is the same so far, Higgy’s is probably marginally worse. In fact their scoring rate since summer 2017 has been similar down to goals/minute. I’m not a massive fan of Morata I just don’t understand how two strikers are literally playing in the same system with the same players in the same season with no discernible difference in performances or output and one is terrible and the other excuses are made for him.

Higuain is a decent finisher but he’s slow as anything, Chelsea need better.

posted on 19/3/19

Higuain looks a shadow of the player he was a few years ago. They may not be able to sign him anyway due to the ban.

posted on 19/3/19

Yeah not sure what will happen with Higuain. We have the option to extend his loan but not sure if we’re allowed to with a transfer ban.

Losing Kovacic would be massive as well. Leaves us with Kante, Jorginho, Barkley and Ruben (who struggles with Injuries) covering 3 midfield positions.

Drinkwater may get a look in 😂

AC Milan will sign Bakayoko for £30m.🤗

As i said earlier in this thread though, you have tons of players on loan, a lot of which are midfielders, who surely deserve a shot to prove what they can do. You also have van Ginkel, who looked promising initially, and Ampadu, who looks like he has a bright career in front fo him.

Looking for internal solutions can be a blessing in disguise.

posted on 19/3/19

Didn’t Van Ginkel do his cruciate? It doesn’t look like Chelsea have anyone on loan that will give them the goals and creativity they are crying out for from midfield. Mount has potential to be that player, but he won’t be trusted and obviously isn’t at the level Chelsea aspire to be at yet, if he ever will be.

This transfer ban could really mess Chelsea up for a few years. If they fail to get CL again, it will have been the third time in four years. They did win the title in that time, but it’s hard to kick that habit when you are consistently performing below so many teams.

posted on 19/3/19

Yeah Mount is the only midfielder that has a chance with us next season. Van Ginkel keeps picking up long term injuries and Sarri prefers Ampadu at CB.

Don't think Sarri prefers Ampadu at all, he hardly gets a look in and when he does play it's been experiments in midfield

I guess the likes of Reece James, Mount and Tammy may get to be part of the squad next season. They should get plenty of game time in the EL 😂

He’s 4th choice CB TJ. He’s only going to get game time if we pick up a couple of injuries.

One advantage to the Europa is games for the younger guys. Question is whether Sarri is the man to bring them into the fold.

Reckon we should go all in for Kante this summer.

Kick them while they’re down an all that.
