spot on.

Rose is being a bit daft though. He's complaining from an incredibly privileged position about a very marginal issue.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If he can’t complain about it now after being racially abused just a couple weeks back then when can he complain?

This isn’t the first time either it’s happened to him and it’s certainly not the first time it’s happened to others.

He’s spot on the authorities don’t take it seriously enough especially fifa/uefa.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He can complain about this marginal issue all he wants, but to suggest the authorities don't take it seriously is pathetic and simply not true. You cannot punish a club and its entire fan base based on the actions of a minority of fans. It doesn't matter how many stewards you have, or how many bans you issue as a club, if there are racist elements within your fan base or society then it's virtually impossible for clubs to prevent.

ny racial abuse nowadays in this country is dealt with swiftly and the idiots “a very small minority” are punished severely.
.................................................................................

The sort of thinking that is very scary to me. If you genuinely think it is a small minority, then you need to go out there. This country hides racism better than any other country I know- it is done very covertly to make idiots like you think it is only a " small minority" right now, it is factual evidence black children are 168x's more likely to be permanently excluded from school than a white British girl. Wake up and smell the coffee
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Would like to see the evidence, if possible?

I don't personally see racism within the country, maybe it's that I don't associate myself with racist people.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Im assuming you're a white male? That's why you don't see it as much.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe that's why, I have very close family and friends who are not though and it isn't something I've much experience with.

I have seen people written off in interviews because they spoke broken English (that includes white males from Europe too mind), that's probably the closest thing. If you can't communicate with clients though it's a genuine issue.

Actually, the major problem I have experience is gender discrimination in the workplace. From unfair salaries, lack of job opportunities through to unfair maternity processes in my personal experience that's a bigger issue than the colour of your skin in the UK.

Don't make comments like that and then call me a drama queen.

"That's because black children are 168x more likely to do something deserving of it."

This clearly suggests that children with black skin are more likely to behave badly. If you didn't mean it that way then you need to sort that out, because this is blatant racism.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

No, I said black children are more likely to do something deserving of punishment than white British girls. Girls are generally a lot better behaved. calm down
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Fack off telling me to calm down - your sentence doesn't say that at all.

Priick.

The racism in the English grounds is minimal and isolated.

He should stop harping on about and playing the victim card all the time.

When you think about it, football is the most diverse profession you've ever seen in the UK, literally every team is well mixed when it comes to nationality and skin colour.

Fifa fined the Spanish fa £44k for racist chanting against England players last November.

That’s a total joke especially as it’s not the first time it’s happened.

You might want to stick your head in the sand and call it a marginal issue but it’s not it’s a huge issue and something that needs to be sorted out

But that sentence implies the skin colour is relevant. It isn't.

What he really means is that a select group of children are more likely to do something than another select group of children.

Those groups are defined by many things, including affluence, locality, family status and income.

Skin colour absolutely should not even be mentioned because it is not a contributory factor.

Whilst I agree, that's no reason for Rose to "turn his back on football".

This isn't a football problem, this is a problem with society and culture.

posted on 5/4/19

I'd be interesting to see where the figure came from though. Gov.uk only has it at a ratio of 3:1 for black:white, but that doesn't account for gender. If that stat is correct then white girls are equally significantly less likely to be suspended than white boys.

Absolute nonsense. That's because black children are 168x more likely to do something deserving of it.

Deprived White Children are the least likely demographic to be accepted into university.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
5 I can believe. 10 maybe. To black children are 168x more likely to do something more deserving of a punishment is nigh on stupidity.

And yes, white working class boys are at the bottom when it comes to GCSE attainment- I did it for my dissertation. What is your point? we are talking about black racism here, if you want to talk about white working class boys, I am also happy to say why that is a disgrace. This is not a us against them situation FFS.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The point you are talking is being PERMANENTLY excluded, which is an extreme event and inevitably the sort of incidents we will be talking about are violence, and then you are comparing black boys to white GIRLS. Girls have a much more limited physical capability as well as a tendency for lower levels of aggression and much higher levels of conformity. They are also far less likely to be experiencing or witnessing violence outside school i.e. the culture they are living in is likely to be very different,
So yes, I would expect the differences between these two groups for such an extreme sanction to be MASSIVE.

Yes but by working as a footballer he's exposed to it more, I'd say.

Which makes it perfectly reasonable for him to be pleased when his career is done and he can do something more private.

What would be a sufficient fine in your opinion? Because I can tell you right now, excluding them from competition would be a ridiculously over-the-top punishment and unfair on the overwhelming majority of match going fans and Spanish people in general.

From what I take is it’s not the football it’s the authority’s running the game not taking it seriously that’s making him feel this way.

As a white person I can’t relate to it as it’s never happened to me but I can have empathy and realise that it must be a horrible thing to go through personally and just as bad to see other professionals going through it too.

Authorities need to start coming down hard imo
