He really struggled with the pace vs Liverpool and even us at times.
Sure he is much better than what we have, but he'd likely need huge wages, and I doubt he'd compliment Pogba too well.
Not that he'd join us.
They have been linked with selling him for a few years now but I don't think they have a replacement in the side at the moment. You watch LA Liga more than most. You'd be able to say for sure if they can sell him.
I think they would sell him if they bring in De Ligt and Griezmann. He’s deffo a player I see here in the rumour columns that is linked with leaving for the right price.
We obviously need him and one other if Pogba joins Herrera in leaving.
Wouldn't help United's cause. Another commercially viable, big profile, high wages etc kind of player that United don't need. Don't get me wrong, good midfielder, but the same was said about Pogba, Lukaku and Sanchez and look at them 3 now. Can only see Rakitic following the same path.
Think United should stick to building a structure, backing their manager and giving him time.

We still need quality in there as well as experience.
This is actually a rumour that’s done the rounds. I’m a big fan of Rakitic but he’s started to slow down a bit now.

Yes, you do, but Rakitic is not the answer. Like I said, high profile big earners are not United's cup of tea at the moment.
I think United's biggest priority should be looking to get 2 young, talented, old fashioned wingers in. I like the look of Harvey Barnes at Leicester. Direct, runs at defenders, good composure on the ball. I think he would be a decent signing for United. Ryan Fraser from Bournemouth wouldn't be a bad shout either.
No. Don’t think he’d be good signing
Living on reputation. Reckon he’d be a big flop in the premier league.
A good player but there must be better/more talented to be found.
I do see the value in Rakitic if we have high hopes for Gomes being earmarked for a first team slot in the coming years.

Pogba will be gone. The only thing that will stop him going is if Boone will match his wages, and tbf on this season, why would they?

I think otherwise. He'll be a terrific signing for United and Rakitic and Pogba will be the best duo in the midfield in PL. Pogba needs good players around him to bring out his best, like when he plays for France.
Ole should sign Rakitic
Another aging player on massive wages who’s best days are behind him?
Terrible idea imo so I'm all for it.
What's the main thing that Utd's midfield lacks (other than quality bar Pogba)? Then think if Herrera goes too.
We basically ran him over at Anfield and Vidal had to work his ass off. I like Rakatic too, great tekkers, but I can think of a long list of players who I feel Utd would be better off getting.
It lacks calmness and control, which is something Rakitic brings to a team. As I mentioned above about Gomes, if that’s a thing with got an eye on in the future I could see the value of the transfer. Of course you’d need to bring someone in with legs as well.
I think people are too quick to fall into the trap of assuming that because we’ve made bad transfers with older players before, that it’s a profile of player that should be avoided at all costs.
That’s not a position I suscribe to. Especially if you are looking at rebuilding with younger players that probably aren’t quite ready yet.
Bring in someone like Gueye or Ndidi to do the running behind him and instantly our midfield is transformed.
So much depends on Pogba. If he stays I wouldn’t touch Rakitic, if he goes and we brought him and Bruno Fernandes in I think we’d have really compensated for the loss.

Vidal had nothing left in the tank, no chance Rakitic can cope, he needs time and the opposition backing off to be effective..
perfect signing for man utd from my point of view.
United should go get Zielinski and Doucoure imo, and keep Pogba. That’s a more able, mobile midfield and would help release Pogba from some defensive work.
And i think both are realistic.
Robb, have you ever thought about becoming an agent? You’d make a fortune with alone through rumours.
Now it's confirmed that Albion will be a Championship club again next season, and likely for many seasons to come, why don't you go in for Gareth Barry?
Opposition fans think commenting here will stop Ole from making his signings.
😂😂😂
One game against Liverpool didn't take away what a classy midfielder he is. Even Messi was wasteful that night.
I'd take him at UTD if the price went insane. People need to stop crying about big money signings... We will need a few, they just need to be carefully planned to fit into our proposed style.
He's past his best. Would be another Schweinsteiger. And in spite of what some of our fans thought at the time, he was pretty rubbish for us
