Carlo is basically the perfect manager for last season's real Madrid side
Dont think he'd have done well if he had come to us at any point in the last decade

The quality of the league has no bearing on the manager though
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not necessarily. It's harder to judge achievements if they've got a huge advantage in the competition, though
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But thats the quality of the team, not the league.
Its not like players who have to take a step up to the physicality or whatever.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The quality of the team is only relative to the quality of the league, though.
Yes, managers have different challenges to players. Agreed

Yeah no chance. It would've been very similar to his stint with Everton. He's not the guy to turn a club around

If it's with the best team in a weaker league then it kind of does. Isn't Gerrard proving to be a good example of this?

Gerrard did a good job though, its just that he is doing a bad job now (which has no reflection of his managerial abilities). Look at Ranieri and the clubs he has done well/bad at and circumstance is the main factor.

I don't see any reason to assume he's doing anything different. It seems much more likely the results are worse because there's more better managers and teams in the PL
He overperformed in both the league and in europe for Rangers. Surely thats enough to assume different?
Who was it that asked about replacing Hugo? Yeah I think it's time to start a shopping list.

Ok I don't get it. We can see the results are different but why do you think his methods have changed? That'd be a mad thing to do given his lack of experience and the success he'd had previously, which he was personally hired to replicate.

He was probably our least calm player tonight. Nerves all over the place.
That punch was truly criminal
How about Lafont.. still really young so probably wouldn't cost the Earth but could well be Hugo's successor for France

Why you telling us? Get on the blower to Paratici
Robert Sanchez is the obvious dream signing but there will be a lot of competition I imagine
Nubel of Bayern ( currently on a two year loan at Monaco ) was the next big thing.
Haven’t really seen much of him recent though
