It’s his best ever start in terms of goals scored as well.

He has scored 5 headers this season which is 4 off the record for headed goals in a season (Duncan Ferguson with 9).

I think the other reason he’s gone under the radar as well is due to so many being set piece goals (must be at least 5 from corners) which doesn’t feel as impressive for some pointless reason.

I was talking to some friends about his trophy front and while he must be desperate to win one, I’d much rather have a WC golden boot or be the PL top scorer than win a PL title

Golden boot or top scorer over prem title?

Why?

Prem title all day long. The golden boot would be great, not knocking it but the prem is harder to win.

Team honours > that individual honours for me.

The WC golden boot would be insane. It’s so rarely dished out and won on your own merit against the best in the world. Whereas happening to play for the best team in the PL isn’t as impressive look at luke chadwick

In Kane's case, he would still be seen as failure having not won a major title at club level.

Aaron Lennon retiring today. A very good servant for us. A very good career.

Kane’s season going under the radar a bit, probably because of Haaland. 12 PL goals already in 15 games. That’s more than he scored all of last season I think. I reckon he should be on for a 25 goal season this year, injury permitting.

Records wise he’s now only 5 goals off of Greaves Spurs record, and 5 goals off of 200 PL goals, both records which will undoubtedly fall this season - hopefully along with becoming England’s record goal scorer. On a personal level that’s a lot of big milestones he’ll hopefully bag this season. Just hope he can get a trophy soon.

Also if he gets those 5 PL goals within his next 5 PL appearances, he’ll hit 200 PL goals in under 300 games, which is impressive.

I agree it's going under the radar. If it weren't for Haaland people might be looking at him like he's on course to break the record himself for goals in a season, given this is his best start. And maybe all the more impressive considering we have lacked creativity a lot this season.

I don't know whether it's Kane's game having changed or the deficiencies in our style of play and personnel but we aren't seeing as many variations in goal from him anymore. They do tend to be tap ins at the moment, and we know he is more than capable of having a good long range shot and scoring outside the box. It's not a criticism but let's say he is unlikely to feature into a goal of the month competition any time soon.

416 appearances

Shame he never converted to RWB. Could've been in with a shout for a World Cup place

There was a question going about on Spurs twitter how you'd rank the following (I put in my order of what I'd like to win):

Spurs CL
England WC
Spurs PL
Spurs Europa
England Euros
Spurs FA Cup
Spurs League Cup

I don’t really think that’s true. Shearer won only one trophy in his career, a PL title with Blackburn as we all know. Nobody really remembers it though, and if Blackburn had finished runners up that season nobody would think any differently of Shearer now. He is best known to this day for being a Newcastle player and the top PL goal scorer.

Obviously Kane and we would rather he won a trophy, but it’s very feasible he could finish his career as the PL top scorer, Englands top scorer, Spurs top scorer and with a WC Golden Boot and numerous PL Golden Boots to his name. That is elite class, and it’s really hard to judge people individually in team sports, but I don’t think you could say Kane was a failure.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
True but I would love Kane to beat his record and win more titles than him so he can brag about it to his fooking geordie smug face.

Shoot forgot I was to ask you a question.

So I have some Bissouma ramblings in my head and was wondering your thoughts on it.

The main advantage of a player like Bissouma, like Kante before him, is that his ability to cover ground, press and return and dribble past opponents relentlessly. It allows you to play a 2 man midfield without there appearing to be a numerical advantage.

Isn’t playing him as a 6 (which is what Conte sees him as) just a complete waste of his strengths?

Yes although with Højbjerg & bentancur in the same line up I can see why he does as they’ve looked better going forwards and Bissouma can cover the ground behind them easily.

When Skipp is one of the 3 it doesn’t make sense.

I think as time goes on we’ll probably see more of a Bissouma In a two.

From what I have seen from Bissouma, so far he is miles away from Kante. Kante must have had 3 lungs or something when he was at Leicester and early days Chelsea.

Still time for Bissouma to improve but he has made some progress in the last month.

On a side note I have been impressed with his ex team mate Caicedo. He could be a player.

Was thinking this - Bentancur's suspended v Brentford so the perfect opportunity to see it.

Hopefully Toney is suspended too for his betting shizzle. Would be nice to save Dier from further embarassment.

Marcelo Gallardo has left River Plate and taking 6 months off. Every top European Club thinking of pulling the trigger on their manager will be after him.

He could be a very good alternative to Conte next summer but I can see him going Real Madrid, PSG or Liverpool if Klopp leaves.
