I'd be happy with our defence depth looking like:

RWB: Porro, Spence/Doc
RCB: Romero, new CB
CCB: New CB, Dier
LCB: Lenglet, Davies
LWB: Udoggy, Sess & Perisic


Don't think we need 6 wing back. 4 plus 1 who can cover both flanks would do.

I don't mind Davies being 5th or 6th choice but Dier needs a break from us and likewise. Time to go!

Don't want to speak for Conte but I wouldn't do it because he's not a great defender. Ok is asking for trouble. Especially in his system, they need to be calm coming out with the ball. I think his recovery pace would be his best attribute and we already have that in Sanchez.

He's not made a litany of errors I can point to, no. My point is that any player converting to a new position will take time and make mistakes that a 'natural' player in that position wouldn't. Positioning being a key one. Decision making (being the last man vs a fullback with cover behind) being another.

Like I said, I'm sure he could do it. I just don't see the point.

The attributes of him I like are the same that Conte requires in a outside CB in my opinion. Which is why so many defensive fullbacks have been converted. However I do agree about whats the point when we could just as easily upgrade anyway.

Up to what the buying club want to pay for him. £10-£15m is about right considering he is not HG.

Second half against Liverpool Dier did really well at RCB, was getting forward a lot and getting the ball in to the box

I want to put on record that Doherty was as bad, if not worse, than royal has been recently
