So Porro as good as done - should be announced today around lunch time.

We are interested in Hincapie and Zaniolo. Hincapie is difficult because we have left it so late and the window in Germany shuts at 6 so Bayer don’t have a lot of time to sign a replacement. Additionally, Hincapie is good but he is not going to come in and instantly upgrade the defence - at 21 he is still very much a raw talent. Journalists don’t think this is a goer today.

Zaniolo - 100% available, however Roma need to behave, they are asking for too much. Supposedly a Conte target and supposed the player is very interested in joining us. Do we need him? I rate him and think he is a very good player, but whether we actually need him at this point is debatable and difficult to make a case for him in front of a CB.

Other than that there is always the chance that one of the mega clubs come calling with a special off like they did with VDV, so should be plenty of interest for us today.

Said it would be sorted at the last hour.

The player wants to come, and that often decides it.

I reckon they wouldn’t let Spence go a Prem team in case he actually does well. In that people could see him being decent and wonder what happened at Spurs.

No Rennes was his best option to start as their right backs are injured.

Don't you think until his form dip last couple of seasons that he was a good keeper and decent captain? obvs not the rousing type but always seemed a decent fellah and spoke ok in interviews etc

Don't you think until his form dip last couple of seasons that he was a good keeper and decent captain? obvs not the rousing type but always seemed a decent fellah and spoke ok in interviews etc

Decent fellow and good at PR? Great. I want an animal in between the sticks. Not some soft french bloke who has a sorry and weak face.

In hindsight he should have been stripped of the captaincy when he got caught drink and driving.

Can you imagine him going to Southampton and smashing it? How bad that would look.

There’s no evidence to suggest he’s any good - especially if you love Conte.

I just think it would be Spursy

There is evidence of him being good at Forest. Also when he has come on as sub even for a few minutes he offered more than Emerson.

Either that or there was no interest.

Apparently Spence turned down loan moves to Atletico Madrid and Sassoulo because he wasn’t guaranteed playing time whereas Rennes are absolutely bereft in that position

Fair enough I didn't watch enough of you to have any real opinion on his captaincy but always thought he was good keeper, kinda agree on the manner of captain I like, want the players listening to him on the pitch when playing if they need Gee'd up

Porro and Danjuma is your lot I reckon.

At least it addresses one of the massive weaknesses in the actual first 11.

There are a lot more areas of weakness though unfortunately.

Oh, but they’ll spend big in the summer.

If it is just them 2 then it’s a 5/10 window for me - they get 5 just for Porro who was absolutely necessary. Danjuma was opportunistic, no thought or prep went into it so no reward from me.

Yes we would still have glaring holes in the squad, but it’s a small step in the right direction after our 2 defensive signings in the summer were both not suitable for first team Spurs football

Pedro Porro is almost certainly going to be #Tottenham's last senior signing today. @TomBarclay_

Details coming out on the Porro deal being a loan fee of around €5m with eventual obligation of around €42.5m. So little risk up front for Spurs this window again. Does mean money is still there for something else today if needed.
