Romano still seems to think both Tapsoba and VdV are still on

Fulham mate of mine says Tosin isn't great

Probably best to wait to see how everything unfolds before letting any dissapointment settle in.

I don't think Dier or Lenglet will be here at the close of the window.

all the reporters saying 3 CB signings unlikely, 2 max and looking at both Tap & VdV and choosing the one

and also that Dier is staying wants to fight for his place etc etc

He can say what he wants but if we sign three CB's then ta ra you bum sucking idiot.

He knows the likes of Brighton, Brentford and even West Ham would not touch him so of course he wants to stay.

Let's see what happens anyway

Thing is, you'd hope Romero and (new CB) would stay fit and available, in which case 3 new CBs would be unnecessary. Only question for me is whether VdV is actually good enough to step in straight away since he's pretty inexperienced - be a big step up if he's being expected to go straight into a Premiership starting XI. Be much more confident with Tapsoba going straight in alongside Romero, but then it would seem unlikely that VdV would be needed

The fact we have a new keeper entirely new to the league, and then potentially a new young CB in front of him who is also new to the league, could be a concern

Let's hope we keep rhe ball enough throughout a game foe them to have a steady involvement, rather than the 90mins worth of bombardment from all sides as it has been for the past 4 years

issues with suspensions for Romero too

not many 'prem proven' CBs realistically attainable

You're forgetting a new left back too. All 6ft 2in of the beast. Saw a highlight vid of him the other day and he could be a playa!

But yeah Romero and Emerson or Porro plus three new players will form a new back line.

All the more important to get the CB's in asap to at they will have a month of getting to know each other.

oh no i agree, but then perhaps if the plan was always going to be to go for the 'prem inexperienced' CBs, then perhaps we should've pushed the boat out for Raya, as that experienced head behind them.

I know nothing of Vicario other than what I've seen on highlight reels on YouTube, so his performances and mentality may turn out to be well ahead of his years, but it's just a concern I have going into the new season

Like I say, I'm hoping that our defence is needed much less per game than they have been over the past 4 seasons, so we shall wait and see

With no European football, possibly only 1 new centreback I'm suggest, or could end up with a whole new backline

does feel like a serious club would sign or at least try to sign two targets rather than just pick between one of them

VdV and Tosin
or
Tapsoba and Lenglet

Tap & Leng

VDV and Tosin for me.

Both have scope to improve.

@Ed_Aarons.

Understand there is serious interest from Newcastle and another top six Premier League club in Crystal Palace defender Joachim Andersen. Denmark international has four years of contract signed last summer still to run and Palace will ask for more than £40m to consider sale

We should defo consider him. Prem experience and a leader.

is Dier's level really worse than Palace's

problem with Dier is that we'd have to force him out as he seems to love the club and not want to go anywhere

seen Reguilon, Gil, Sanchez, Lo Celso all linked to Spanish clubs

Sessegnon linked to Forest

Tanganga linked to Italian clubs

we'll get rid of all of them i would imagine through cut price sales or loans

posted on 4/7/23

I think Dier would downgrade Palace. Forest or Fulham would be a good fit for him.

signing a 3rd CB doesnt seem an option, and even the 2nd CB we are looking at a cheaper option

If they bid 100 mill, spurs will sell imo

Harry must have given them some encouragement. Clubs the size of Bayern would not fh a ck about otherwise.

I think he might go….

If Kane has mentally checked out of Spurs then just sell. We have coped in the past without him when he has been injured and will cope again.

He must be sick of all the false dawns and being a slave to Levy.
