Apparently Ange has been impressed with certain players and wants another look at them on tour, which is probably why Levy is delaying signing 2 new CB's. This will be Levy's wet dream, he will be hoping and praying Ange is happy go with Sanchez & Dier so he doesn't have to spend on upgrades. You'd have to question Ange if he thinks he can make a player out of Sanchez.

That's just not true. A few of the ITKs have been saying he absolutely wanted a new centre back in before the tour and he's not happy about it. He personally approved the pursuit of VDV and Tapsoba so he's not going to suddenly say "nah don't worry, I'd rather gamble on these guys that conceded relegation numbers in terms of goals and opposition chances". No way.

Paul O'Keefe is not A Trix or a Hercules. He really is well informed. You can scoff but there are varying degrees of reliability with these guys. They're not all guessing chancers.

getting players in before the tour has become such a weird hangup for people

i can understand it at CB though where were didnt address last summer, rolled it over a year and conceded 60 plus goals last term

It is important when you're doing a 180 pivot in terms of style though. If this were a continuation of Conte's tactics and the players knew what to expect then you can be well coached by players as well as staff on your return. As it stands it's only the management getting the message across so if the entire squad are learning now, it pays to get everyone aligned on that process.

You might not think it's important but it is. That's the modern game. It's all about marginal gains. From what I've heard, we had a fee agreed for VDV and it was Levy that moved the goalposts, just as Sporting did with Porro. For me it speaks about priorities. It feeds that narrative that finances are more important than progress.

People who think like that are unstable but the longer it drags on, you have to think we are going to continue to ship goals.

It should have been the first area which should have been addressed but typical Spurs, buy a AM and a Winger first.

Nothing changes. Soft center Tottenham. All flair and no substance.

of course it's important. But there isn't a single one of our rivals who has gotten all of their business done before their pre season. The last 6 weeks of the window don't just exist as a formality, it's unrealistic to expect everything to have been sorted by now. What's important is we get in what we need to get in by the end of the window and I'm sure we will.

It would be nice to give a new manager as much time as possible to bed in a new defence. It is so important.

More important than signing mids and forwards when you consider the obvious weakness in the side.

He does a good job for his national side.

On ITK's, POK is the best one. No one called Vicario and there are numerous other examples. Wolf from Spurs ITK hub has proved to be good as well.

SC had someone claiming to be Monor Soloman's father's friend who called the timing of Soloman's announcement. He was from Israel lol.

Trix, Herc and that Hotspur88(?) is the biggest tap in. Hotspur is worse than Trix and Herc.

Fab is mostly spot on (called Gil first and a few others) Gary Jacobs of the Times called Bissouma before anyone else. Sami Mokbel and the don Matt Law have broke news in the past before anyone else too.

That is likely old boy. Hasn't one only conceded more in a Barclays season on one other occasion?

I totally understand that we have time but you have to remember that it's not like we're still searching. We've identified VDV and Tapsoba, we've agreed terms with both players and even Fab said that the VDV one was 'really close now'. The only reason it's not got over the line is because there has been a breakdown in communications somewhere along the line. Now you could argue that's as much them as us but either way, it's the lack of ability to get deals done when they're one inch from the finish line that frustrates about the way Levy operates. The latest news about VDV is that other clubs have entered the race, likely bigger ones and if that is the case and he slips through our grasp, how on earth can anyone be blamed but Levy for stalling for a better deal. No other club does this. Certainly not for players in that price range.

There's a strange set of Levy apologists out there.

Woolwich now spent 200 mill this summer. They came runners up and now want the title.

Apparently we make more money than them but can only afford one cb.

Levy is a fraud.
