Did we actually look good though? The stats look nice
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes we did, not afraid to knock it out wide and got plenty in the box to ask questions. Some lovely passing and moving at times too. Both our teams played pretty much the same way in each half but I only saw the last 15mins if the 1st half.

Thought Maddison and Soloman linked up well. Perisic had a good game. Udogie made one 60 yard run only for Rico to knock it out lol.

Defo 4 1 4 1 without the ball then everyone attacked together. Highlight for me was seeing Royal tucking in and making an extra man in midfield. He didn't do much but the performance was a world apart from Conteball.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sounds about what BigAnge has promised then. I take it it was Bissouma/Skipp in the single pivot? Was both fullbacks inverting or just the one tucking in while the other pushed up the wing?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Bissouma first have PEH second.

Skipp was one of the 8s

Just watched fhe highlights and saw the 2 goals we conceded

Very poor reactions from Vicario
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Just watched all three goals.. harsh to blame him for any of them IMO. 2 point blank free headers? Maybe he should've closed down better for the third but one-on-one is always going to favour the striker
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Austin was the keeper for the third. Seen a few grumblings about the Ings goal how it seemed to just go through him.

Going to the all-star game tonight, hope they put in a lot of leg breaking tackles

Decent signing to develop, but can`t see him being ready to go in and immediately improve our CB options.

We need 2 x proven quality CB`s that are ready to go and require little bedding in

Marseille, Rennes and Lille are all interested in signing Pap Matar Sarr on loan.

#thfc are yet to decide whether to let him leave ahead of the new campaign. | @le10sport

Fook em all. Keep him.

#thfc and Strasbourg are in talks over a deal for Davinson Sánchez.

No agreement yet between the parties, especially for the player's salary, meanwhile, other clubs also like the defender. | @MatteMoretto

Viera manages them now. He must want the sack.

There are so many other players I'd be getting rid of before Sarr, especially considering Hojbjerg could be off, and Bentancur is still injured for a while

The DEFINITE outs in my opinion should be:

- Sanchez
- Tanganga
- Rodon
- Reguilon
- Sess

The 'see how they go under Ange' before selling are:
- Skipp
- Hojbjerg
- Lo Celso
- Ndombele
- Peresic
- Porro
- Gil

Dier is sticking around like a skid mark that just won't budge

----------------------------------------------------------------------
He may want to but if we sign two CB's I doubt his ego would allow him to remain as 4th choice. At his age he should be playing every week (in the MLS).

Where does everyone stand on the two centre backs we're supposedly going after. I'll admit I don't know much about either but for some reason I'm favouring VDV over Tapsoba. I've just got a hunch he's the real deal. It's not often you'd favour the cheaper option. I really hope this isn't a case of some sort of unconscious bias as that's really, really gross but there must be a reason why so many fans are favouring the cheaper option over Tapsoba.

From what Ange said this morning, the wording made it sound like only one would be coming in, not both, which is a bit depressing. If the game last night taught us anything, it's that we are desperate for some defenders capable of playing a high line. I'm not even sure if Romero cuts it playing that way. I won't be happy if we only bring one in.

posted on 19/7/23

What part of the Ange's quote made you think it would one or the other?

That seems to be the line the ITK's are saying.

I think it will be one or the other and someone like Tosin(Fulham bidding for Bassey of Ajax) or Anderson of Palace or that Danish bloke from Turkey.

I prefer VDV because of his pace, age and room to improve. Tapsoba will be going to the AFCON as well.

Tapsoba is better.

VDV is cheaper, younger, left footed and more versatile.

happy with either but right now we need as much quality going straight into the first team as possible, so tapsoba

----------------------------------------------------------------------
But who works in an Ange system better? Who complements Romero better?

From the little I know about both players, sure Tapsoba is the more experienced player, but if we're playing a high line we're going to need pace aren't we? Similar to Van Dijk at Liverpool. Another reason to need pace is that Romero isn't rapid, neither is he the tallest. VDV is taller than Tapsoba too.

I don't know much about those guys but I'm struggling to see why we'd be holding out for Tapsoba over VDV, particularly if the costs are that much greater. Maybe VDV comes with more risk as he's not as experienced. Feck it, come on Daniel, let's just get both. We need both.

posted on 19/7/23

Tapsoba is more than fast enough, VDV is just one of the fastest CBs in the world.

they're the same height too. Tapsoba better on the ball (one of the best ball playing CBs in the world)
