Tapsoba is more than fast enough, VDV is just one of the fastest CBs in the world.

they're the same height too. Tapsoba better on the ball (one of the best ball playing CBs in the world)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah but it's good to have a partnership where there are different characteristics in each. Romero is great on the ball so his partner doesn't need to have those same strengths. Pace is the one thing Romero lacks so I think they'll compliment each other better.

I guess they both sound decent and it looks like we'll be getting one of the two anyway. I just can't get my ahead around not signing both if we're looking at getting two in. Surely Tosin and Lenglet will be a somewhere the region of 15m so why not spend a little more to get VDV in for 30m? At least then we'll have future proofed and we'll have a younger player on the bench.

Don’t know why we aren’t looking at Caicedo to replace PEH, would make our 3 man midfield solid.

Out of our price range and we've already got Bissouma. Plus I've got a feeling one of Ndombele or Gio will make up the three with Biss and Maddison. Suddenly an area of the pitch long neglected looks half decent.

Would be a misuse of resources on a position we don't need to improve desparately

based on that logic we should just start Sanchez - not great on the ball but fast.

We saw first half yesterday that you need both your CBs to be good on the ball - Tanganga was awful first half and really stifled out build up play.

Is Romero even slow? Never noticed it as a problem, mind you he's never had to actually run much since we've always sat so deep.

I don't even think Sanchez is that fast.

He got outpaced by Scamacca for the third goal and I am not sure if Scamacca is meant to be quick.

He definitely didn’t get outpaced by scamacca, he was running in a different direction!

Fair point. Can't disagree with that.

What I meant though was that Jan was the cultured progressive player and Toby was the purer defender. It was the perfect partnership. It's not about taking someone on pace alone. If VDV's only asset is his pace, I don't want the guy. He needs to have a lot more than that.

Sure, Sanchez has pace by my god, his decision making, communication and positional sense are absolutely woeful. Plus he seems like a confidence player. It feels a little bit like Maguire at United. He needs a new challenge because no matter what he does from here, the Spurs fans will be waiting for his next screw up. Same for Dier and to a lesser extent, Lenglet, should we stupidly re-sign him.

I kind of hope we continue to ship goals over the next couple of friendlies to make a bit of a point. It doesn't matter how attacking we are, we will win nothing if we defend like we have done over the last couple of years. Not even close.

He was, you could see him getting angry at himself at one point over the volley game

His crossbar challenge attempts were shocking as well

Should #Spurs sell Kane, the idea would be more to reshape the attack amid Ange Postecoglou’s fluid new style, rather than directly replace the forward. That is seen as virtually impossible.

Flamengo forward Pedro is amongst several options #Tottenham are considering to refine the attack if Kane leaves.

There are so many other players I'd be getting rid of before Sarr, especially considering Hojbjerg could be off, and Bentancur is still injured for a while

The DEFINITE outs in my opinion should be:

- Sanchez
- Tanganga
- Rodon
- Reguilon
- Sess

The 'see how they go under Ange' before selling are:
- Skipp
- Hojbjerg
- Lo Celso
- Ndombele
- Peresic
- Porro
- Gil

Dier is sticking around like a skid mark that just won't budge

----------------------------------------------------------------------
He may want to but if we sign two CB's I doubt his ego would allow him to remain as 4th choice. At his age he should be playing every week (in the MLS).
----------------------------------------------------------------------
considering the club (Levy) is adament he won't be selling Kane at any price this summer, it's very odd to see so many stories and umours suggesting it's been discussed internally, whaat we would do in the event of him being sold...

Joško Gvardiol to Man City, here we go! Agreement reached on the fee between City and Leipzig πŸ”΅πŸ‡πŸ‡·

🚨 Understand Gvardiol has completed the first part of medical tests today — deal on the verge of being signed.

Gvardiol agreed personal terms one month ago with City.

Hoping this starts off some sort of chain. I reckon once Laporte's future is sorted we will move.
