I think it's mad to say Kane couldn't work in Ange's system. Though I think it's fair to say we wouldn't miss his all round play as much.

I agree Bale's. We sometimes forget how good he is at defending though on corners, constantly heading out deliveries. Something you'd never get from Ronaldo by the way. He was probably our 2nd best defender last season.

That varies wildly though. Some journo was saying none of the numbers out there are accurate. And I don't believe they'd have gone from 70-80m to over 100. That's not to say it won't happen but I think we're around 50-50 right now. Maybe less with Levy on holiday

If I were Levy and I'm not, I'd not sell unless there was some grate player I could bring in relatively cheaply that would make the fans happy. Like a Felix but good

I hope we haven't just strengthened the defence only to weaken the attack by losing Kane. Would feel like 2 steps forward, 1 step back.

I would be reasonably optimistic about the season were we to sign VDV, possibly get Tapsoba and the window finished with what we then had. If we ended up having a poor season then I wouldn't bemoan the fact that we'd be losing Kane for nothing and we could have got £100m for him last summer. Whatever happened, at least we could say we gave ourselves a good chance of having a decent season with the squad we had.
