I just exaggerating for comic effect tbf. I don't hate Hojbjerg and yes he did alright against City when he wasn't shocking, but I would be happier if he didn't start games.

The revisionism here is brilliantIf we were signing him, we'd be saying "wow, £40m for an 18 year old, he must be amazing".

Looking at the lads City and Brighton have bought from South America, that's the kind of punt you do. Veliz, Alvarez, kinda deals. Big money deals for teenagers that aren't generational talents or doing it in a top 5 league are asking for trouble. See: Antony

I don't mind him staying and look forward to him winding Billy up in the match threads.

From the sounds of it there weren't any decent bids anyway. Why would he go to Lyon? Maybe if Juve have money to spend in the summer. I'm very meh on him but like you said on the other thread, for the last 20 minutes to close out games, he's good to have around

Yep and in an ideal world that’s all he’d be used for, he’s just had to play way more than expected because of various circumstances conspiring against us. He’s at least 4th choice, 5th depending where you view Skipp in the pecking order.

He probably wants CL football given his age.

Or Udogie or Sarr

#Tottenham remain in the market for a young winger, Roony Bardghji of Copenhagen is one who has impressed staff at the club.

There isn’t a blanket statement that you can use to attribute to players

posted on 29/1/24

It's my opinion on the kind of deals that make sense for typical players. You're welcome to disagree but it's not nonsense

Well you mentioned Brighton but ignored the amount of successful signings they’ve made that don’t fit the criteria

I mentioned the lad they just bought and the lad City just bought cos they fit what I'm suggesting. I mentioned Veliz and Alvarez as actual names that were about the same money. I mentioned Sarr and Udogie who weren't overpriced.

What examples from Brighton are you referring to?
