Why does that make him an idiot? He may have a relegation clause in his contract; but while Villa are in the PL that is the only team he wants to play for?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm saying he's an idiot unless the new contract has a load of exit clauses in it. He could easily find himself trapped at a club going nowhere like Zaha.
If he's taken good advice and negotiated a bunch of get-outs, then fair play. But if Villa end up doing a Palace and staying just above the relegation places for years without progressing, they can just demand £80m for him and no-one will pay it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But what if he is content playing for the club he loves in the PL? Le Tiss did the same thing and wasn’t deemed an idiot until he opened a twitter account
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, yeah. I'm working on the assumption that he, like most footballers, wants to play at the top level. If he doesn't, then fair enough to the guy, and Spurs probably never stood much chance of getting him anyway.

Just looked, it was Sporting that he scored a bunch for. I had the wrong green team. 76 goals in 84 league games for them. Not bad.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah good record to be fair. Portuguese league though... so I’m not entirely convinced! Is the age that worries me the most. How many players come to the PL at 31 and hit the ground running?!

Yeah - interestingly his record in Portugal and Holland is phenomenal (over 0.7 goals per game), but both times he's played in a tougher league (in Germany) it's dropped to 0.4 or even 0.3 goals per game.
Granted Sporting are one of the strongest teams in the Portuguese league, but even so - doesn't bode especially well for him coming to the Premiership, especially at his age

I’ve always been against the bale signing mainly because I like signing the young 21/22 year old and seeing them progress and he’s a injury prone 30 something.
I’ve done a 360 and think for the prices begging quotes and even at half his wages I think it’s a must now. Just to show the squad and the fans levy is committed to trying to push us on again
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’m against it as he is sh*t and lazy

.4 or .3 goals per game is a good record - especially for a backup striker. I think that is what Jiminez achieved last season for example.

I agree and exactly how I feel. We urgently need to inject something into the club to get it going again.
At the moment everything is stale.
Lacazette on .38 goals per game in the PL for example

Bale or Levy?
Jimenez got 27 in 55 last year, so 0.5 per game, near as damnit. But yeah, over his whole career he has 115 in 347 which is 0.33 goals per game - actually significantly worse than Dost whose overall career is 0.52 per game. And by comparison, Harry Kane has a career average 0.57 goals per game...
Point being that the talent is clearly there, so hopefully in the right system it would work fine in England - hard to see where a better alternative backup is coming from, anyway.
Depends what we want tbh. Do we want a striker to come in as back up ala llorente or do we want someone to come in to push Kane / take his place next season ( certain he’ll be gone )
According to twitter dost scored a hat trick once with only 13 touches in a game
I'm all for bale in this current situation as long as its not a sweetener because of not strengthening in other key areas
So with the most recent player profiles of strikers, Jose wants a tall striker. Long ball is here to stay.
Roma have agreed a few with Napoli for Milik
Honestly what are we doing? MK is right things are so stale and we really do need something new to come and improve us, not back up. We seem to be letting so many Targets go.
Starting to really worry about this season. Three weeks ago I was so positive, now it all seems to be going tots up!
Arkadiusz Milik
Height: 1.86 m
10 cm too short for Jose.

£20m too expensive for Levy
Never seen Milik play but he was my preference because he's left footed and some of his free kicks are beautiful on YouTube

nice promo to my amazing article.
As usual Baldy has decided he's going to wait for the bargain bucket that is the last week of the transfer window to do anything, even if there have been players to get now.
Milik rejects Roma cause he wants to play alongside Moussa Sissoko and Ben Davies
