While I’m doing these disgraceful Jose compliments - I want to add this one rare compliment about him over Poch.
I like how ready the players have been to come off the bench and perform for him - his rotation seems to have been very effective. I feel dirty.
Nah come join, Edin. I’m fully King Jose after this week.
Might (won’t) work forever but his manner has got that squad focussed and fighting. Rotating better than Poch. We’ve got a performance out of everybody all week. No moping cos they’re playing the league cup match vs the being in the Europa team or starting at Old Trafford. I’m all for it.
Can finally see an attacking plan and structure too which is nice.
I'm proud of you Edin
I think the impact that Jose has off the pitch is really what Spurs needed. Yes we all want nice football and lots of goals, but it's maybe clearer now how something had been lacking in the mentality at the club. Speeches are one thing, but signing Hart seems like a deliberate move to try and change the dynamic in the squad. Hojbjerg too, though he doesn't have the same experience he comes across like a very determined, ambitious character.
Obviously I hope it brings trophies this season, but even if the worst happens and Mourinho ends up sacked there'll be a step change in our approach going forward. Less about ideals, more about objectives.
While I decided before the season go kinda ignore the Mourinho stuff and just enjoy what I can and get over the stuff quickly I don’t enjoy I have to say even the most hardened Mourinho critic always said season 2 would probably be a good one it’s the 3/4 season that’s the worry.
Playing wise I think he’s realised we are so attacking heavy he’s not got much choice to let us go & do it.
I also think our summer window has lifted the mood around the club.
I will say though the documentary did change my view slightly on him.
Onwards and upwards spurs
I think the other thing that I hated about Poch and what I like about Mourinho - is that Mourinho identifies a player/player profile and then if we don’t get option A he is happy with options B, C and D.
Poch didn’t do that and there were a few signings we could have made (I’ve forgotten off the top of my head) but he turned them down as they weren’t the exact player he wanted. “Less about ideals, and more about objectives” is a decent line.
Giovani Lo Celso is out of the Argentina squad. So that's him, Ndombele, Son, Bale and Dele all at the Spurs training ground over the next week. Can only be good. #THFC #COYS

Vinícius, Bergwijn, lamela & Lucas too
Amaaaazing. So it’s literally only Kane away from our attackers.
2 weeks to get Vinicius onboard with our tactics and expected movements.
For when Kane inevitably does his hamstring playing his 264th straight minute for Gary Southgate
Goddamn it Gary.
Crazy we've got Bale back and a striker. What next? A trophy??
I do think a lot of the change in mood and attitude has been caused due to the Bale signing (even if I doubt that he is a better player than Bergwijn these days controversially). I think everyone was miserable after the Everton result but what a turn around since that turgid affair.
What 7 players make the bench when everyone is fit?
Hart, Aurier, Sanchez, Winks, Dele, Bergwijn, Bale
In our opinion or in Jose’s opinion?
Moura or Lamela starting?
Lloris
Doc Tobes Dier Reguillon
Lo Celso PEH Ndombele
Bergwijn Kane Son
Our strongest xi imo
My personal first XI
Lloris
Aurier
Toby
Dier
Reguilon
Holjbjerg
GLC
Ndombele
Son
Kane
Bale
Subs: Hart, Doherty, Sanchez, Sissoko, Lamela, Dele, Berg
Fack that’s hard actually.
Leaving out:
Davies
Moura
Vinicius
Winks
Probs others I forget.
Hart, Toby, Sissoko, Aurier, Lucas, Dele, Vinicius
Hart Aurier Davies Winks Dele Moura Bale
I think Bale starts if he's fit
