Having read it (although I am no law expert) I believe this constitute Common Assault. On the flip side his defence could be classed as 'The Public Defence' if he thinks he was preventing a greater crime.
I believe that his actions were disproportionate to the circumstances though which is why I do think he'll be sacked.

Some hilarious alternative scenarios here.
What actually happened was a guy grabbed a woman around the neck and forcibly shived her about.
That's it. He doesnt have a right to do that end of.
All this talk of nut jobs, home invasions and all the ither bollox is just that. Bollox.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It is an attempt to obfuscate. I wonder what their reactions would be if someone did that to their sister or mother
----------------------------------------------------------------------
She didn't have a right to be there.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think they may have had tickets actually. Not sure.

That would entirely change my perception of what happened in fairness.
I have a serious problem with people deliberately looking to cause provocation and then crying bloody murder when somebody reacts. I hate it in all walks of life. From the lippy mugging off the big guy in a pub then complaining when the big guy finally reacts.
Hate that sort of thing.

Apologies. To be fair I should have put 'could constitute' in there.
As for ending up in court then it could in some cases but not others I suppose such is the inconsistent sentences we see.

Who knows what the woman had.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Faaack that mate, the bloke grabbed her because he was annoyed with her, he wasnt worried she was about to commit an act of terrorism ffs
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not saying she was going to commit terrorism but she could have thrown something over someone.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But that's not why mark fields grabbed her, he wasnt worried that she was about to throw anything, he wanted her to leave so he made her leave
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And rightly so. She shouldn’t have been there. Sick to death of all these activists doing what they want and as soon as their is a retaliation the snowflakes jump on the bandwagon
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fine make that argument then - dont pretend like he was a hero who was concerned for the safety of his fellow MPs ffs

I didn't pass it off as first hand knowledge.
Hope this helps.

Ive a mate who works in the CPS and Im telling you this wouldnt make court - or words to that effect.
What an absolute beIlend.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep, that's not passing anything off as first hand knowledge.
Not very bright, are you?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
According to SATS Im top 2% of the country actually. Sorry.
No-one can be assed with your deflection, semantic based nonsense or anecdotal stories about a guy you know who works in the CPS.
Bye.

Winston. Thanks for the link.
Having read it (although I am no law expert) I believe this constitute Common Assault. On the flip side his defence could be classed as 'The Public Defence' if he thinks he was preventing a greater crime.
I believe that his actions were disproportionate to the circumstances though which is why I do think he'll be sacked.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You honestly think if this happened on the street it'd end in court and/or sentencing?
If that's your view then fine. We will never agree.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Apologies. To be fair I should have put 'could constitute' in there.
As for ending up in court then it could in some cases but not others I suppose such is the inconsistent sentences we see.
