I bet these people defending Field are the exact same who were having a fit over Farage and Robinson getting milkshaked.

You never know, she may have had a salted caramel milkshake secreted upon her person
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Could be worse. She could have had battery acid secreted upon her person...
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Think a lot of people havent read the full story. Before this another woman in red was asked to leave. They knew it was a couple of women from Greenpeace. Battery acid ffs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So they've been asked to leave a private event, yet she continues to try get and enter?

She deserves a smack to be honest.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Absolutely not.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why not?

It's rude, it's trespassing and it's made a an organisation with the right ideas at heart look unprofessional and obnoxious.

There are better ways.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Are there? Because they haven't worked.

You still can't go round manhandling women in a peaceful protest imo.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Is gatecrashing a private event peaceful or is it provocative, when they've already been told to leave?

The UK is one of the front runners of environmental policy. Why don't they go to Beijing and try that crap?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

British people protest British ministers.

Saying youre at the forefront of that means fvck all.

Akon brought renewable energy to one million Africans.

He's a rapper.

Yes but in 2050 we'll be a bit better at it apparently as we have made a commitment.

By which time Hammond will have died an extremely rich man.

If one of us went to a United board meeting uninvited to protest the Glazers and were handled like that there be an outcry amongst United fans I'm sure.

As much as I love United the welfare of the planet is much more important and so I've no real issue with peaceful protest.

I've no idea how you came to that conclusion, but, smacking people wouldn't be a great way to protest.

Ridiculous for him to be suspended.

Perfectly normal reaction to forceably push someone who has invaded the room to cause a scene and exactly what security would have done.

He didn't assault her, so what has he been suspended for?

It’s also not a great way to deal with peaceful protestors but that’s exactly what you suggested.

And whoever is bringing up Jo Cox to defend this bloke is an absolute disgrace to her memory. She was attacked by an armed terrorist, this woman had a phone in her hand. That’s it. Wtf was she gonna do? Deck him over the head with it?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
does he know it is a phone? if i was surprised by some nutjob coming at me with something silver in her hand i would sure as hell not wait patiently to see what it was. Politicians are attacked all the time, there was a german politican who was killed a few weeks ago. Lots of nutjobs out there.

He sees her from quite a distance away. If we was that concerned he wouldn't have waited for her to be behind him before making the grab.

You can see him turning round about 10 seconds before she arrived at his chair. This wasn’t some sort of coordinated attack, he was anticipating her.

I don't think there's an argument that he thought she was dangerous. That's silly.

Clearly he was frustrated by their lack of willingness to leave as requested and saw red, threw her out himself.

How would we all feel if people gatecrashed our wedding or birthday speech at a private function? Or an awards ceremony at work?

It's down right rude.

What next - are we going to let pitch invaders run around as much as they like, providing they're not a danger to anyone?

Don't want to 'attack' them by forcing them off the pitch, do we?

Ask Mark Field, his reaction to the situation made it out to be some sort of assault on him.

Your post suggests he attacked her.

Or have I misinterpreted that?
