First day back cycling in London after my holiday

2 cars not indicating
1 lorry & 1 council van in the bike lane
2 pedestrians walking between cars
1 car jumping redlights

This kind of stuff happens all the time though and its normal. What are you lot going to do though about slowing us drivers down on the road with your cycles when you pay no tax at all?

There is no road tax in the UK, it was abolished by Winston Churchill.

Oh so from 2020 funds raised from road tax (VED) will actually be used to improve roads. That will be nice instead of the current situation where cyclists pay for the roads to be maintained.

I think you're struggling Winstron. VED is for vehicles that use the roads. Do you pay VED? So why should you use the roads?

Driving down the road the other day I was overtaken by a big gas guzzling Passat estate with 2 bikes strapped to the roof rack, then I passed a motor home with a pair of bikes fixed to the back, so these car hating pescatarians don’t mind using the car on the way to centreparcs then???
Also the Tour de France, ohh look at us promoting cycling as we drive our Octavia VRS’s all over the land with spare wheels and things attached to the roof

Either way, road tax doesn't exist in the UK.

We all pay for the roads and we are all entitled to use them

I wondered that but not sure.

Doesn't do any harm to explain it though. I often give sarcastic answers but there are a lot of people out there who genuinely don't know that road tax doesn't exist.

Same people who pay for pavements, parks, schools etc.

Winston, i'm not impatient at all. I just don't like cyclists slowing me down and then getting all funny with me just because I decide to overtake them at the slowest speed possible so as to not knock them over.

It's just a nuisance seeing them congregate at the top of the traffic queue when the lights are red. Then they all rush off like they're in some sort of race oblivious to the fact that us drivers who pay our taxes are entitled to use the roads and not them. I don't think i'm being unreasonable here.
