Need serious changes next test. Denly, Bairstow and Moeen out at a minimum. Sibley, Leach and Foakes in, put Roy at 4. Archer for Anderson.

Roy is finding his feet in a tough environment. No excuses for that shot but you'd like to think he'll learn and work on curbing his aggressiveness.

Agree with these changes. Although I'd personally like to see someone like Northeast given a go at 4. The guy is class and should be on England's radar. However I wouldn't be unhappy with Roy moving down the order if we bring Sibley in.
Agree with that. I'd go:
Sibley, Burns, Root, Roy, Stokes, Buttler, Foakes, Woakes, Broad, Archer, Leach
Push Stokes back to 5 as he's better than Buttler when it comes to the defensive side of s test match.
That side has a lot of potential and not too many weaknesses.
Lyon showing up Moeen even more.
80-2 turns into 85-4. Really is typical England. It feels like the fight has sapped out of England and I think Root has to take some blame.
There are some players in this side that really are under threat. Roy, Moeen, Bairstow, Denly and Buttler all massively under performaning.
Root is a terrible captain. I would like to see Buttler taking over if we lose the Ashes.
I see Buttler is 1 off 19...makes Roy's stupidity look even more reckless. If you need to bat the day you defend and make them get you out. Even if he had lyon for 6 it wouldn't have had any effect on lyon.

Lyon is a better spinner than Moeen but the situation is also different. All England can do is draw so less pressure on spinner.
We were so dominant playing Ireland as well...I expected better....

Not blaming Mo but that will ultimately be the difference in the game along with Jimmy's injury. It's a spinners pitch but he couldn't even bowl economically whilst Lyon is probably going to get 5 minimum.
Lyon's a better bowler sure, but Mo bowled woefully.

I think that might be the exact team I named after the Ireland test
No good if Root can't pick his buddies though...........
Bring back Eoin Morgan to lead this English side. The Irish will save the English cricket.

Both batsmen on big fat zeros.
It will be all over by 3 p.m., never mind tea.
Buttler gone. Think that was a tough shot to play to be hobest. I'm on holiday at the bar watching on my phone then stream froze so only seen it once but semed to keep low on a good line?
No one calling for butler’s head, interesting.
