I dont think he had the minerals to fight for his place for England.

Bizarre comment.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

An utterly ignorant comment just like his others.

Exquisite touch, if you think it was lucky or a mishit please put on a big dunce cap and go sit in the corner.

As for minerals, not many players have it in them to win 11 Premier League titles let alone one ... "we don't let this slip!"

he never had the minerals for it m8

....

Yet another idiotic comment.

You are on a roll today kid.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
its the truth he never had the minerals for it like he doesnt management, quits far too easily.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He’s so good at quitting that he quit football twice, each time a PL winner, just to prove how easy it was.

I dont like him as a person from what Ive seen and I think there is merit in saying he gave up on England, regardless of mitigation, but he didnt lack minerals.

Are you calling me an non-disturbed nonce? That means you like me more than the other guy. Happy with that.

Could have been a mishit, but scholes has the vision to do something like that, so could be either. Was class..

I’ve been to loads of testimonials and players do some amazing things when the pressure’s off. I have no doubt Scholes did that on purpose. Back in the day I went to a Spurs/Bournemouth game which was a testimonial (can’t remember for who) but Nick Barmby was pulling off some amazing tricks. If Barmby can do amazing tricks imagine how good Scholes is without any pressure on him.

Nick Barmby was dece.

Jason Koumas of all people had ridiculous tekkers. Lallana too.

I played against a 50 guy who used torepresent the army when I was in my prime in a charity game and couldnt get near him. His first touch was soooooo good.

Not sure if it is still going but there was a Veterans league in North London back in the 80's.

I watched former Spurs player Alan Gilzean doing things us mere mortals just couldn't do, for fun.

It opened my eyes up to the pure difference in class at that level.

He absolutely did it on purpose. I don’t actually think it was that good a pass though, unless he also factored in Lescott having the turning circle of an oil tanker.

Scholes and Carrick were both great to watch last night, Neville and Carragher too but for other reasons!

Veterans leagues are mental. I trained as soon as I hit 35. as I was sick of getting rinsed for pace by kids but the people in it and can still be assed are always the ones that were class and semi pro. Thought Id be up against a load of fatties

----------------

He did give up on England, but not because he didn't want to fight for his place. He was just sick of the cliques and some of the England players playing for themselves rather than the team. I believe that there were also family reasons too.

Yeah pretty much and I get it but it just smacks as a bit typical Scholes. His choice is his though so no grumbles from me.

Pretty sure Scholes also thought it would prolong his United career.

Hard to argue with any player for doing that.

I don't really blame him to be honest. The quality of the players that we had in the England team was far superior than what we have now, yet we currently have a similar or perhaps even better team than back then. Must have been frustrating for him to come from a team like United that worked so hard for each other, to then be in a team where players from other clubs didn't mix and where some played for themselves. Never likely to win anything in that situation. And if you are already away from home a lot travelling,it must seem a bit pointless. He has always been a family man and with a young lad with autism, I can understand why he chose to retire.

2-2 decent result considering one side were spearheaded by Robbie Keane and RVP whilst the other was Benjani (last min equaliser) and Darius Vasell 😂

Brought memories flooding back watching Martin Petrov refuse to pass for 90 minutes.
