Liverpool’s midfield is better than ours. It’s not really a debate

Maguire is prob the only player that would get in our team , so yes Utd would benefit from a player swap

If they had Matic trudging around and Pogba showing up once every 3 games? If say they would have been worse off.

Don’t think they’d be Europeans champs that’s for sure.

I get that Liverpool’s midfield strength is based more on how hard they work and how they function as a unit but they still have more individual quality than United’s midfielders. The likes of Fabinho and Wijnaldum are top players and would walk into your midfield.

Their midfield was excellent in the 2nd Barca game.

Our midfield while not overly flashy is workmanlike and brutally efficient.
If we had United’s midfield we would not have pushed city so hard or won the CL.
As GT says where do they fit? United’s midfield wouldn’t work hard enough. Could you imagine Matic turning like an oil tanker or pogba posting on instagram while playing our style?

Fak knows. Klopp is the more deciding factor. He gets that extra out of our players.

I think we would need Barcelona 2008 mode midfield to be contention, Carrick and Scholes at the Emptihad last showed even in their advanced years what we had technical ability wise compared to now.

How do you think they'd have done RDD...

Baring in mind the intensity and workrate they play with... Do you think a plodder like matic would have fitted in

Fabinho is much better than Fred right now. Yes Pogba is much more talented than Wij but Wij runs his backside off and shows up most games.
