I don’t mind it but think the two leg semi final need to change.
League cup is decent. Less of a annoyance than the FA Cup. Play reserves/kids on midweek so no issue and if you get to the QF then take is seriously.

Would be good if they could have it over with a bit earlier. Now we have some sort of winter break, that could be the ideal time to conclude the Cup.
I don’t think they’ll drop it but there’s no doubt that it’s a hindrance to most of the big clubs (excluding City because of their squad).
Most see it as an opportunity to play the second string - I’m happy with that.
How about a British Cup for teams not involved in Europe? Aberdeen v Everton. Hearts v Leciester. Hibs v Newcastle. Could have some great fixtures.

Always good for our perspective that players like Shaq, Gomez, Lovren, Lallana, Milner etc etc get a game to maintain fitness.
How about a race cup? Different races go head to head to decide which race is best at football. Religion cup? Wait how good would a continental cup be? Europe v South America final. Who wins that?

TNS vs Brighton and Hove Albion.
Linfield vs Aston Villa.
Give lower league clubs their EFL Trophy back, and make this happen.

Think you are going off topic now Finlay.
I've always disliked it. There is no need for 2 domestic cups.
Come on who doesn't want to make race elevens and argue about who would win?

We should have two separate regional competitions with play offs thereafter. The regions split on either side of Hadrians wall. We will finally see who between Scotland and England has the better quality of competition.
It will also be nice to see folk who live in Manchester, Newcastle and Yorkshire suddenly realise that they aren't actually 'Northerners' at all.

We already do that where we have regional leagues in the league cup for teams who are not in Europe. Then the teams that are in Europe join the knock outs for the last 16. That could work with teams involved in Europe for the British cup as well.

Not a bad idea that. Get rid of the Scottish League Cup as well and merge the competitions together. Something different.
Problem with the League Cup is it isn't unique. The FA Cup might be a lesser competition for teams at the top of the football pyramid, but it at least has the unique factor of being all inclusive, the lower down you go the more relevant it becomes - the League Cup is a competition for the sake of having a competition.

I propose that the final is played at Hampden. We all sing Caledonia as the anthem as the teams line up. A British stadium and a British song for British fans.
If there was a British Cup then PL clubs wouldn't take it seriously anyway. Pretending that they are resting players for the league like they pretend to do in the Europa, but in reality they are just scared of losing when putting out a full strength team. "We weren't trying anyway"

Absolutely right, they wouldn't. Which'll cause a lot of upsets. It's a interesting concept.
It will also be nice to see folk who live in Manchester, Newcastle and Yorkshire suddenly realise that they aren't actually 'Northerners' at all.
The problem is that its a valuable revenue stream for League 1 & 2 clubs, maybe having a seeding system which matches league 1 & 2 clubs at home vs PL & Champo clubs as far as possible in to the later rounds might help.
As it stands, fans really don't care very much and personally couldn't give a toss if it got scrapped to be honest. LC games just conjure up memories of empty seats and poor football.
How about a "They Believe" cup for gender neutral footballers?
go back to making the CL and Europa league a pure knockout competition
As it stands, fans really don't care very much

I have been to a few League Cup games, and every time the away section is full. I am sure Forest will fill the away section tonight as well. There is still some attraction, but I do know a lot of games will not attract that many away fans.

Yeah that would get rid of the farce that was Spurs playing a Barca C team at the Nou Camp which allowed them to go through to the last 16. Every game would matter so it would be fair for everyone.
A chance to see some more of our youngsters, good opportunity for a manager/club to get themselves the first silverware of the season.
If you get to the Quarters, teams start to take it more seriously and you see more 1st team players involved.
