Greatteamswinit4times- a terrible enemy (U6008)
Why do you think it exists?
Fairly typical driver though - obey the law when it suits.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Safety and efficiency mainly. I wish cyclists thought about those two things more often.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I wish car drivers stopped murdering whilst drunk

So you put other people's safety at risk for your own convenience.
Pathetic.

Don't worry about it Winston. None of your concern.

Reading in the Metro today that seven people, including a baby, were hurt when a drunk/drug driver crashed his car yesterday.
The Metro reports it as ‘a car crashed into a church’ and it isn’t until the final paragraph until they even mention that the driver was over the limit.
You can bet that if a cyclist crashed into a pedestrian, it wouldn’t be reported as ‘bike crashes into pedestrian’.

It would be reported as ‘cyclist crashes into pedestrian’, obviously.

Accurate then.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So why not say ‘driver crashes into pedestrians’ as well then?
That subtle difference says a lot about how the media report on the two different modes of transport.

Sure:

My understanding is there’s been a campaign to change this and that some media outlets have improved, but there’s still a very clear difference between the way it is reported.
The Daily Mail will run an article about cyclists running red lights and then run an article complaining about speed cameras.
It’s as clear as day.

Well, see my original comment on this subject.
Very often it’s ‘car hits pedestrian’, as it was today.

The saying in society in general is "hit by a car" rather than hit by a driver. It's not a big conspiracy against cyclists.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If that’s really the case, why did you ask for proof?
I’m not claiming there’s a conspiracy. I’m saying there’s a subtle difference in the way the media and general public treat drivers vs cyclists, which is created by a deep rooted bias and entitlement.

It goes back to me being correct, as usual.

About what?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
About the difference in headlines and reporting.

And it's certainly not a subtle difference. Cyclists have a far worse reputation. So what you're saying is hardly a revelation. Now granted I'd never considered how media reports the two but of course cyclists have a worse reputation than motorists.

The subtle difference I was referring to was the headlines, not general reputation.
You really should learn to read posts properly.
