Hmm, interesting words from Ole tonight ...
With Lukaku leaving permanently to Inter, and Alexis Sanchez joining him on loan, United are short of strikers this season and, speaking to Sky Sports, Solskjaer revealed he's happy with what he's got, saying "I can say [I am a striker short], but that was the decision that I made and I made it happily.
"When you have players, [they may have] great potential, but Romelu's head was not here for us working forward as a group.
"I don't want to speak too much about other players. I have got lots of respects for Romelu but his time was up here.
"We are very happy with the recruitment we did. Towards the end the right one we just didn't get him over the line
Happily made the decision to go into a season one striker short..... right then 🙄
He’s clearly talking shiiiiit and doesn’t actually believe that.
I hope not or else we’re doomed
Yeah, we’re doomed
I feel sorry for the young academics lads. It must be demoralising having to come into this team and try and impact matches, even more so given the hope and expectations on their young shoulders.

Yeah, was one of the worst transfer windows I can ever remember us having
———
You can’t remember 13 months ago?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Good point. No wonder Ed wouldn't back Jose with any more money in that window. Fred is a total bust and Dalot is a mediocre crock.
That’s what I was saying in the summer
No matter how much people rate Greenwood, the guy is 17. Even in the small likelihood he could handle the pressure it’s no good taking the risk as like we saw with LVGs use of the youth system, you can end up with loads of casualties. As someone on another site said a few weeks back - there’s a difference between using young players and developing young players and Ole seems to be doing option 1 more than 2
Could have had Martinelli as well!
Rob, yeah I agree. Even though I loathe Lukaku I’m sure you’ll recall I actually wanted to keep him, but that if he hd to go - which it turns out he did - that we had to sign a striker.
I remember having a debate with Elvis about this subject and claimed the club wouldn’t be so facking stupid as to go into the season relying on the forwards we have. They failed to even meet my lowly expectations of them.

Elvis bet me that Rash and Martial would get 35+ league goals between them this season
Would be stunned if they got half that
Fack off did he? Aguero and Sterling got 38 between them last season ffs.
It was always a risk relying on those two to be our main source of goals this season. But even more so when you don’t bring in any quality forwards or midfielders to support them.
I have a dream
We bring in a new manager. Who has a clearly defined style of play. Who inspires the players we have. Who brings in Eriksen and Moussa Dembele this January. Who plays one DM in the majority of games. Who makes Rosso realise that you can get the fans properly excited even with Ed in charge
Fingers crossed 😂
Well Pochettino isn’t that guy.
Arsene Wenger to join us - you heard it here first

Well we still wouldn't have a DM to play if those were your signings.
Dembele is bang average btw. Prime Everton signing.
We should appont Laurent Blanc just for the lols because he’s an ex player.
I think everyone’s dream would be Tuchel
I don’t think there is a dream coach out there for United. The dream coaches for United are at our two biggest rivals. And even these dream coaches would have issues with this incompetent ownership.
That said, I would like Tuchel at United. He’s got experience managing this level of player as well as he got Mainz into Europe.
It’s annoying to see Chelsea surge ahead with their great promise and clear idea of what they want to do. I thought they would do well but they’re surprising even me with how it’s all clicked
Startling to see how we’ve both diverged since the 4-0

Well that scoreline wasn't a good reflection of that game. I know most Chelsea fans were still pretty upbeat about the performance on the day even though we couldn't stick it in the net.
I definitely didn't expect your season to go as poorly as it is so far though
If i was in change of United transfers i would 100% never have signed Maguire for £80Mil.
For the fee you paid for him you should have could have signed all of the following -
Alderweirald - £20Mil
Tierney - £25Mil
Manalos - £30Mil
Your defense would have been 100 times better off and you would still have £5-10Mil left in the bank.
Even though Sanchez has been tripe fo you guys i would have kept him at the club. You guys are still paying most of his wages and left face it hes better than Lingtrash.

It's the boardroom.
We had a net spend of about £35-40m this summer when ins.outs and wage savings are considered and whethere Ole says it or not the purse strings have been well and truly tightened. Glazers may be considering a sale and are reluctant to spend.
Tierney will prove to be a bargain and Tielemans was an ideal Herrera replacement and for reasonable money as well.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tielemans is the most baffling one. Apparently he wanted United but wasn’t prepared to wait around for us. Don’t blame the lad.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tierney and Tielemans just baffles me.
Both quality players, who play in positions we badly need to fill, available, and relative to market valuations, they represent good value.
Why we didn’t go for them, I honestly don’t understand.
Our defence and how we defend isn't an issue. We have no attacking threat which a full back like Teirney would give us.
Not Signing Tielemans was criminal
Thing is, it isn't just 5 or 6 first team players we need, we also require 5 or 6 squad players.
Sign in if you want to comment
Tierney, Tielemans, Bruno Fernandes
