Cynically, part of me thinks the reason your board hired him was because he’d be more willing to work in ways Mourinho wasn’t because of his history and affinity to United (that and I thiught it was a quick way to appease the fans).
The issue with that though is it means the deep lying changes you need to make behind the scenes potentially get delayed.
OGS is not the problem. Think of SAF great teams, lethal in attack. Its funny we are like the least efficient side in both ends of the pitch. When has a Man Utd side have like the worst strikeforce and worst keeper in the league all in one season. In fact since March we have near title winning for on expected goals for and against but near relegation form for actual goals for and against. How the heck can we be so inefficient.
I reckon no manager will improve this. At least under LVG we used to keep clean sheets in one sided draws. We can't do that under Soslkjaer.
Just put it how unprofessional these players are. Man Utd are 2nd on expected points away this season.
Man Utd expected points away is 12.72 and Liverpool 11.8. Actual points Man Utd 6 vs Liverpool 19.

1) His incredible run as caretaker prior to injury hit season ending which has been forgotten about at this point
2) Fans love him
3) Nobody else was available
4) Familiarity with the club having played for and been a coach here
That Ole won't act the spoilt brat to the media the way Jose does was probably a bonus but from everything I know about Ole behind doors he isn't a yes man. The Athletic has posted several pieces describing his hidden side and castigating of players. Don't see how he would be afraid to give it both barrels to execs at utd if he felt they warranted it.
You are going to struggle to break down teams that sit deep when you have no creativity in midfield. Which is why I am prepared to give Ole until this time next year. If by then we aren't seeing anything different it will be time for a change. Hopefully Pogba can come in and have an impact in that respect

Either way, there’s more needed than a change in coach. Anyone will need to spend a fair bit in the next few windows.
We just have a lot of deluded fans who think this squad is capable of better than a 6th place finish.
Depends on who the manager is. One of the clear flaws is the positional coaching that a better manager would help rectify. Defensively and offensively we are poorly coached off the ball. And it shows with the huge gaps left between the defence, midfield and attack. Whether in a deep block or higher line I’d expect a better manager to have the lines closer together, which would help us in and out of possession. Problem is the level of manager we need to really kick on as a team is unlikely to come mid season.
