The most corrupt venal and yet incompetent government of my lifetime.

And now we have the fascist tangerine here to seal the deal on buying The NHS.

I honestly never imagined the British public were this stupid / naive / racist.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly!

We can't just say this is politics and it always happens and shrug our shoulders.

I have never seen politics become so damn right dirty and full of shenanigans, party members lying on TV, buses plastered with blatant made up fictions, and every service is cut back to the maximum, so that money can be channelled elsewhere to line-up management pockets.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
labour just as guilty ... dont vote
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It is almost the lesser of the evils that we need to vote for. Imagine Tories got in. NHS woud be sold down the river to the American corporates, everyone would be asked to have an insurance before going to an A&E. Te super rich will have subsidiary companies tat would be given lucrative contracts to milk the NHS cow even more.

Shame you don't appreciate what it took to ensure this country is free. You have a duty of care as a citizen of it , to do your best to ensure that you VOTE and you have some opinion on what is happening in it

We all would love to just watch football,, drink and come on JA606 talk about it, but we all have the responsibility to partake in what affects this country.

So politicians promising £400b of funding, telling us only 'rich' taxpayers will be hit, is not buying votes? Tories allegedly do it offering trinkets to a few egos while the socialists do it offering straight cash for votes. Personally I have a problem with both but mostly with the latter as we all know, eventually someone has to pay and it won't be business and the super rich. Then it's back to austerity and the cycle begins again.

I recall we discussed this the other day. Bizarre you now regurgitate the "fake news" rhetoric. For reference:

Please see USTR UK FTA objectives which they have successfully implemented elsewhere. Most recently Australia.

Its been established US trade policy long before Trump.

https://ustr.gov/sites/default/files/Summary_of_U.S.-UK_Negotiating_Objectives.pdf

Procedural Fairness for Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices:

- Seek standards to ensure that government regulatory reimbursement regimes are transparent, provide procedural fairness, are nondiscriminatory, and provide full market access for U.S. products.

I’d mentioned on the politics thread if UKrep carve out pharma procurement from a UK/US FTA, the US will demand concessions in other sectors in line with USTR objectives.

Which is likely to be agri-food standards. To facilitate US agri-food UK market access.

Whatever the UK chose to give preference to in their negotiating objectives, the simple fact is that to agree a FTA with the US there will have to be significant trade-offs.

Many of which will be politically and publically toxic pills to swallow.

I was watching Channel 4 News last night, and they had several Labour Leave Voters sat around being interviewed. They asked who they would be voting for at the Eelction, and they all said Boris Johnson, all saying he was very cuddly, believable, decisive, and when he said nasty things, he didn`t really mean them. Now I don`t normally badmouth my fella citizens as being doughnuts, but in this case I have to. I don`t think I have ever seen so many thick gullible people sitting around a table talking nonsense as those on the TV programme. They really do believe their lives will be better under the Tories. Their was not a question asked about the past nine years.

I despair sometimes that some people just should not be given the vote.

got a ask yourself where we'd be without austerity.

It wasn't a choice taken simply to cut state spending and taxes, it was a necessary measure to prevent financial disaster. it's like some one in a household being made redundant, you simply cannot go on spending at the same rate and painful time will follow. What would our debt be now if we just borrowed.

You can argue about the depth of the cuts but let's not pretend that these decisions were taken without reason, that the pain was avoidable. .

People seem to fail to understand the implications of national debt. we pay more on debt than education. The idea that we just borrow borrow borrow and someone down the line will pay for it is utterly irresponsible.

What is striking is that under Brown we experienced the financial crisis but despite years of growth and good times the national finances were a mess when the crisis hit. For me, while they were not responsible for the crisis they contributed to the depth of the actioner needed in the aftermath.

it is this financial mismanagement that scares nw more than any of the fake news. Brown was a cautious man, JC & Co. want to take our borrowing to the levels of the 70s when it lead to a financial crisis when we were bailed out by the IMF. But hey they're promising free stuff so let's vote for them.

The argument for austerity Britain (the reality we got under the Tories, not the idea of austerity) is decimated by the fact that the wealthiest people were unaffected and in fact got substantially richer.

Brown did phenomenal work after the US subprime mortgage crisis sent much of the world into recession.

After that the Tory government came in and went about diverting public funds into the hands of lackluster private entities spending more than any opposition government combined while ruining many services. That is the reality.

The great unwashed are promised free broadband and education they will never use by JC.

Both sides are terrible.

Andy Burnham would be the only labour MP/PM I would vote for at this time.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Andy Burnham, the MP who sold himself out to get a better job, and now spends all his time trying to pit north against south. He is your typical career politician.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I mean Corbyn, he is no career politician!

Burn ham did the right thing, got away from the labour mess. Sat quietly in a decent job and will be moving back to be an MP when the obvious happens and labour are beaten. He is the best balance between Corbyn and the Conservative party.
