Being in Europe and having a poor summer window has really knocked us back - after 15 games last season we were 12th.

Think the league table is a little bit flattering to be fair, isn't it only like seven points to a relegation spot or something. It's is great being fifth but we are like four/five points ahead of the likes Newcastle and Brighton who are as bang average as it gets.

Flattering isn't the right word. What I am meaning is that I think we could and should be several more points better off than we are.

Who's going to be the first on here to talk of Champions League qualification ?

So after our semi-final win on 7th May we have only 2 league games (H Palace, A Chelsea) to solidify our top 4 place. It's going to be tough.

Agree, I believe this why NES seem agitated when quizzed over our position, and all the dogooders say ‘aren’t u doing well’ he looks like he wants to kill something, cus he knows we should be 6 points further on

Nuno out

Think it is the lowest points for 5th place for several years and i did see a few tables in recent years where 23 points was a top eight place after 15 games.

That said i do think there is quite a difference between Wolves now and Wolves two months ago and currently we are a very good side playing a much better brand of football than we did back in September

Careful Cinci, some people might take that last comment as an endorsement of the current squad and that you're happy with how things are going.

"Watford have appointed Nigel Pearson as manager until the end of the season"

him, deeney and the milkman all at the same club.

Nuno has said that he, Vallejo and Real Madrid will be having talks about the player’s future in the coming weeks. I’m sure Real want him to get games, but with the success of Dendoncker, Saiss and Kilman in defensive positions I can’t see Vallejo getting games with us. So he will surely go back to Spain in January. Also relevant that what we have seen from him has been completely useless

Brighton have won 4 and lost 4 of their last 8 league games and that really explains the difference between theirs and Wolves records this season. We are 8 places and 5 points ahead of them in the table and it’s basically because when we don’t win we draw, and when they don’t win they lose

Was looking yesterday at the equivalent table last season and Arsenal in 5th had 31 points after 15 games. With the exception of Watford no one's really cut adrift and only 6 points between 18th and 8th before today's games. Unusual for the premier league that, but a result of clubs like spurs, United, arsenal being bang average.

We're doing remarkably well but only Leicester have really taken advantage of what could be argued is a weaker division this season.

Good start for Everton but Chelsea still look the better side.

Exactly. I don't see any difference between ours and Leicesters squads quality wise

I've not actually seen much of them, but the impression I have is that they're quite a bit more clinical than us, they put poor sides to the sword while we faff about a bit and make hard work of it. Probably experience.

Everton have worked hard for Fergusson today, hope they give him the job, the lazy fecks won't be arrssed to do that every week.

So you disagree with my view that given our quality we should have more points in the bag. Also, if you could point out where i said we are not currently 5th best that would be great.

There’s only two differences between the performance of our squad and Leicester’s.
1. Leicester have had virtually no injuries.
2 Wolves have played 11 more games than them.

No question in my mind we would have more points than Leicester if they had been in Europe and we hadn’t. If neither team had been in Europe we would probably have been on a par with them.

So that would suggest we needed to add to the squad in the summer then yes?

Which was exactly my point, Wolfgang however believes it has had zero impact on our season which is what i initially responded to.

The points we've got, are the points we've got. Simple really. I think we'd all agree that we just got off to a slow start this season, mainly because of the extra games we had in the qualifying rounds of the Europa League.

I really can't see your point about how we should have more points in the bag. The new arrivals have taken longer to settle in, but to be in the last 32 of the EL and being 5th in the league, seems to go against your opinion.
