The points we've got, are the points we've got. Simple really. I think we'd all agree that we just got off to a slow start this season, mainly because of the extra games we had in the qualifying rounds of the Europa League.
I really can't see your point about how we should have more points in the bag. The new arrivals have taken longer to settle in, but to be in the last 32 of the EL and being 5th in the league, seems to go against your opinion.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The new arrivals have had a very small impact on the squad. I think we have done exceedingly well given the hurdles, that doesn't change the fact we could have reduced those hurdles and be doing better does it?
I agree that the new arrivals have had little impact thus far, but it just emphasizes how good Nuno's squad is. He's also working with virtually the same squad as last season, plus we're having more injuries this time around.
I'm not really sure that our European adventures have had a negative effect on our performance in the league, if anything it may have helped (winning is a habit).
With regard to the Leicester comparison, having only watched them once when we played them, I certainly don't think they have a better team than us overall. They definitely have several good players, but so do we. Would you swap Jimenez for Vardy, or Neves for Maddison, or Patricio for Schmeichel? No me neither. Having said that I would welcome all 3 of those Leicester players into our squad (yes even Vardy), and wouldn't mind Pereira as well. And who would swap Nuno for Rodgers? Not sure how their reserves compare with ours.

Agree but yet they are the same points ahead of us as we are to 19th placed Norwich. And as has been mentioned it is certainly partly due to their far lighter schedule. Only one intelligent way to combat a tougher schedule in my mind, and that is to strengthen the squad. So in summary my original point was to disagree with Wolfgangs point that extra games haven't had an impact on our season.
I do think adapting our game has been very productive though, as until recently we laboured through games creating little and struggled to put wins on the board but now we look far better.
Anyone reading this would think we were already out of Europe (like Burnley were) and we were fighting off relegation. No pleasing some on here.
Anyone reading this, is reading this. Simple really.
Who isn't pleased? I am thoroughly enjoying the season, that doesn't change the fact i believe we have left plenty of points on the table league wise which could in my opinion have been avoided to a degree by us strengthening the squad.
Thankfully it appears as though we are going to rectify that in January which is clearly what Nuno wants and is suggesting will happen.
Don't waste your time Cinci, if you said our shirts were gold, some on here would say they were a deep shade of orange, just to try and make a point.

Amazing goal by Son this afternoon. A solo run from his own penalty area leaving Burnley bodies in his wake. Goal of the season, surely.
Beat Brighton and we're 3 points off 4th !
Not bad for cinci's poor team in a crap year

If cinci won the lottery he wouldn’t be happy until he found a reason to moan about it
Spurs win this afternoon has sent us tumbling down to 6th and if Utd win at City we will be 7th. #rotsettingin

BUT i did have five numbers on the lottery once, was feckin fuming, 1280 quid split four feckin ways, outraged i was
With that Man Utd win we need a victory tomorrow, otherwise we could finish the weekend in a lowly 7th position.

Yes Villa fans will remember him for winning the league and the European cup. Wolves will remember him for selling Steve Bull and Andy Thompson from Albion to Wolves. Either way, a big name in West Midlands football

He actually resigned from Villa before they'd won the European Cup. Think it was Tony Barton who was in charge. I do remember a reserve goalkeeper making a name for himself that day. Spink?
