At least England are taking a few wickets.
Need to get faf and de kock out cheap
Anything near a 250 lead and theres no chance
Archer 2 beamers in a row
Pretty what day. Need another miracle to chase down the target. At least we cant lose by an innings

Who cares, we've got some OBEs in the team
Overdose of ODI/T20 had detrimental impact on state of test cricket. Only 2 or 3 world class players exist in the team, there is considerable work in progress

This test is a write off. Not much you can do when half the team has flu. Even the ones on the pitch are probably well below 100%.
Side note: the lack of substitutions (concussion aside) in Test cricket is silly. I've always thought that.
If England collapse to 120/130 all out. that should be it.bring them home then.
Typical, whenever England hear about a retirement, there’s that sentimental claptrap, England care more about ‘showing respect’ than winning Test matches it seems.
Ambrose, McGrath, Warne, Philander and many more.
I remember Steve Waugh’s last Test in England in 2001 where he was old, fat and injured and still smacked us all around the park. I think eventually he showed some mercy and declared it something like that. England at the time had just won 4 series on the spin, but still they applauded him like the best of them.
England won’t be happy until Philander gets 8/20
Enjoy your retirement buddy, thanks for the memories

This is going far too well...
Just waiting for the first wicket before the collapse starts.
Why are so few people there? A Saturday with a good match in prospect and empty seats everywhere.
Such a shame only us and the Aussies love test matches.
There it is. Absolutely dreadful dismissal.
121-1 at close. Fantastic effort it must be said
Decent start but on the back or an unacceptable 1st innings always up against it.
How tf did it take England so long to pick Burns ffs ridiculous.
Hopefully give it a good go and bounce back with a good win in the next. This will still.be some ask here.
Just piiiisses me off when we only make 180 in the first innings and then manage nearly the same target for just one wicket in the second. And on a fourth innings wicket. It's not like it should be news to these players that they have to play properly.

Steve Waugh had more match winning innings to his credit than tendulkar and lara, he deserved every bit of respect that he got out there. Played against the best and succeeded against every every one
Steve Waugh was a great, this is not in dispute.
The fact of the matter was even in 2001, he was not in his prime as a batsman, then had the burden of captaincy, then put on weight and was literally on one leg as he was injured.
Never have I seen a guy on one leg so easily make a daddy hundred, watch the highlights again if you don’t believe me.

England had good bowling attack like Caddick & Gough and I remember he dived for the single that completed his hundred and waved his bat then. The guy was special, he scored double hundred against Ambrose, Walsh in 95 that enabled Aussies to dethrone Windies from no 1 ranking in test cricket and some special knocks against Donald, Pollock and 2 W's.
