No, I laughed at the flawed nature of the comment - on the basis that there's absolutely no proof and for reasons pointed out, your perception is affected by the team you support.

Funny how every incident leads to Liverpool fans being treated differently.

So says a Liverpool fan.

"when Liverpool fans threw stuff at the City bus there was outrage on this site"

Would be interested to see some examples.

The only outrage I remember is from a couple of City fans.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well that's fine if that's what you remember but don't state people are wrong just because you don't remember/didn't see it. Things can happen without your knowledge, you don't have knowledge of everything, believe it or not.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Right, so how are you so confident that the reaction to Liverpool fans is worse than the reaction to other incidents?

Get out of that one.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I saw outrage throughout the site when Liverpool fans threw stuff at a bus.

There hasn't been outrage on the site when United fans attacked the personal residence of a United employee.

It's quite simple. I really don't understand what you're struggling with.

Right, so in my case it must be because I didn't see it, but in your case it's not because you haven't seen it, it's because it didn't happen.

Yes exactly.

Just had a quick look through the site and no outrage. So yes, it hasn't happened, which is the whole premise of the point made. Do keep up.

Perceptions do get warped. The City bus incident has taken on a different narrative than what actually happened (certainly in the case of the comments referring to it on this thread).

Why is it being used as a barometer that shows how differently people react to an incident involving Liverpool as opposed to an incident involving United?

posted on 29/1/20

Superb.

It's okay everyone, we've got TOOR here to tell us what has happened across the site.

He'll give us an independent view of things and his perception won't at all be affected by who he supports.

It just so happens that his two most recent sets of findings have shown Liverpool fans to be treated differently to everyone else.

You can't make this stuff up.

I don't think it's being used as a barometer. People are just comparing the reactions to the two incidents.

So your response to someone coming up with the ridiculous idea that this might not have been United fans, but the actions of people paid by journalists, is 'I don't blame you' for thinking like that.
But the idea that there is a bias regarding the level of outrage on this site dependent on who you support, or which club is involved, is beyond something you could ever imagine.
Your an odd one. 😂
I mean FFS, there's one article about this story on this forum, if it was Liverpool fans attacking their Cheif Execs home last night, this place would be fecking dripping with articles. 😂

Taking comments way out of context there, to be honest.

It's not beyond something I could imagine. The main point is that you can't possibly know if that's true and you're 100% influenced by which team you support.

That last sentence is ridiculous imo but you obviously believe it, so hey ho.

Actually, non of the Liverpool fans condemned the attack on City bus, actually, they laughed if off. But there are United fans who condemn the attack on Woodie's home.

Where does that leave us then?

posted on 29/1/20

The scales slightly different. A small group of half wits have stood outside someone's house menacingly. Not acceptable, but an isolated small group of dikheads.

Everyone that bus drove past threw something at it

It is slightly different, one group threw stuff at a bus, another group turned up outside the personal residence of a United employee, having threatened his life in the days leading up to it.

I didn't.

I honestly cant stress enough how little of a fvck I give about a cracked window.

I condemned it, as did many others. But you say one thing on here and people still tell you you're saying something else.

For example, at the time people were saying City fans shouldn't get on their moral high horse as their fans were on video attacking a bus and despite condemning what had happened to the City bus the replies were that you're not condemning the incident.

posted on 29/1/20

I’m a City fan, I’ve never attacked a bus. Nor will I be held accountable for or associate with any idiot who does attack a bus.

So any fan, Be they City fans, Liverpool fans, or fans of any club, who hasn’t attacked a bus can “get on their moral high horse”.

Just as any fan who isn’t a hooligan can get on their moral high horse and condemn hooligan behaviour. Or any fan who isn’t a racist can condemn racist behaviour. etc. Etc. Etc.

Any one who made the kind of comment that you highlighted there TOOR, is making a poor argument.

Oh and Winnie, had a quick search for you. From the fourth of April, the first bit of outrage was posted by a United fan. Following this there were four articles over the next three days, three from United fans, one from City fans showing outrage. On top of this, nearly every article created on the Liverpool board that week turned into outrage over the bus. This went on for weeks.

Nobody created an article showing outrage about United fans attacking the personal residence of a United employee.

So once again, just because you don't see something, doesnt mean it didnt happen. You don't have knowledge of everything, believe it or not.

Yes, I completely agree.

It's crazy the stuff you get accused of and names you get called on here due to the actions of others.

Liverpool fans know this more than most, which is probably why United fans didnt get treated as Liverpool fans did when comparing the bus incident and the attack of Ed Woodward's home.

Because no one cares tbh.

Yeah its poor form from those involved but i forgot it happened by the afternoon.

What I was trying to say Ripley is that people tarred Liverpool fans on here with that incident, despite having nothing to do with it and told them they weren't condemning the incident, despite condemning it.

So when others pointed out that City fans had attacked a bus, they were told they weren't condemning it, despite the two not being exclusive.

I understand that. I was showing that the two were treated very differently on here. Winston disagreed despite not knowing.
