Martial was awful today. Very frustrating!
Martial has been given a consistent run at #9 and for me he doesn't look up to it, in terms of being our main striker.
It seems clear that his best position is the same as Rashford's.
I don't want Martial to leave but I've had a feeling for a while that it wouldn't be a massive surprise if he left, we kept Ighalo and also bought another top class centre forward.

Today?
He's been awful and extremely lazy since his pay rise to 200k a week.
He needs to go
Go out and get Jimenez. I’d still take Vardy on a big two year contract,
Agree. It was obvious in the summer that we needed someone like Mandzukic or Ben Yedder if Lukaku was leaving.

The best I’ve seen Martial for us was that period of time where every week it seemed like he swapped game time with Rash and they competed for that spot

This has been clear for a long, long time.
Martial and Pogba are a bit alike in that they tend to sulk (Pogba not as bad) when things don’t go their way. They have plenty of talent and get frustrated when others perhaps don’t meet their expectations, and slack a bit. Thing is though, it’s players like that who raise a team up when things aren’t working, or atleast the genuinely brilliant ones do.

I don't know! Someone who knows where the goal is and can also hold the ball up well. I thought Martial started the match OK but didn't carry on his performance. Perhaps he's still not 100% though.
Martial couldn’t raise a flag
Completely opposite mentality to someone like Keane

Why would get rid of one our top scorers and keep players who can’t score? So people want Perriera and lingard to stay but martial leave? Where is the logic
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No one wants those two to stay.

People are unrealistic and without top 4 we won’t bring in a top striker. We won’t get someone like Werner in as we won’t be attractive enough and there other teams competing for top players.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You are the 606 equivalent of martial (or Pogba)
Minus the talent.

Well we won’t sell everyone so let’s be real and we need a squad of players. Martial will score you 10 goals and more a season and we need to get in a top striker and winger to add to martial, rashford and greenwood. There is no point in selling a key scorer and then having no replacement for your new forward when they get injured as we always get injuries. You need competition and a squad

yes he does but you can say that about everyone
the problem for me is i do not see any attacking pattern or creativity in this side.

I don't know what Martial is like as a character but he seems quite laid back, currently, his position in the starting 11 is not threatened. Maybe he needs that competition to get the best out of him.
I dont want him sold but I think he should be used mainly at LW and competing with Rashford for it.
Massive gulf in quality between Jimenez and Martial.

Fair enough. It's just frustrating that none if our attacking players can do it consistently.
