he's got a long way to go to scale the heights of Naby Keita that's for sure
he has just taken the PL by storm, completely agree with the hype about him being Gerard, Essien and Zidane rolled into one.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Certainly has. Keita will be picking up a PL winner’s medal in a few months. And a few days later, Bruno will be playing in a ropey cup qualifier in a city you’ve never heard of.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
oh good for him, participation award, definitely worth the 50 odd million, darren Gibson, Luke Chadwick & Fabio have one as well!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you want to read what you’ve just written? Of course it’s a participation award. Do you think the likes of Mane, VVD, Salah etc haven’t participated?

The thing about Keita is we don’t need him to be amazing. He can be a squad player and come in and just be solid when we need him to, like today. Our first team is already so strong.
United need their new signings to work and be quality as they’re lacking it in their first team currently. I do think Fernandes will work out and be a good player for them as it happens, but the difference in what we require of Keita and what you require of Fernandes is very different.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
that wasn't my point.
you want to mock a player playing in a new league after maybe 1 real training session who actually looked good till he faded, yet everyone heard from this board about this incoming force of nature from RB who was going to be a revelation, take the league by storm.
now you need him as "solid" back up to Henderson.
expectations changed?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I haven’t mocked him at all. I’ve said i thought he did well today, particularly in the first half and will be a good signing for you.
I’m just saying for any united fan trying to mock us for Keita, you’re not going to bother any of us. He’s a squad player for a side who’s marching toward an unbeaten season and the title, it’s not going to get a rise out of us. We simply don’t care if he’s good or shiiiit
----------------------------------------------------------------------
fascinating
its not going to get a rise yet you keep responding.
what I am trying to prove is that clearly the board get opinions on new players wrong quite often.
you might not need Keita to be very good this year but it doesn't change the opinion he's basically been a massive flop based on price and your expectations.
so a board of supporters who were telling all and sundry how amazing he is, clearly can't be trusted to judge midfielders especially when they've barely kicked a ball
i hope to see a midfield 3 of
----------fred/McT-----
fernandes---pogba
then sell pogba in the summer and sign a midfielder who can actually dictate play

Why do people persist with this? It won’t happen.
So answering your question now shows you’re getting a rise out of me? okay then

right now it doesn't matter how good the midfield is, we have the opposite situation to Liverpool
our front 3 are devoid of ideas, make poor runs or no runs at all.
Liverpools front 3 are very dangerous they can get away with hard working players who aren't play makers.
for example, give Henderson, wijnaldum, Fabinho a front 3 of martial James and mata to play with ....
then give fred Pogba Fernandes Liverpools front 3, see which teams fortunes change the most
Keita has made 26 apps for Liverpool (including subs) and Liverpool have never lost a match he has played in. He's been injured for the most part. We win with Keita every time and he has fewer bad games than good games.
Why is Keita being compared to United's flops? Fitness permitting he would be United's best midfielder

Moot point. Nearly any team would improve more than Liverpool in that situation.
Also, our current front three has been managed and built by Klopp for years. If you give Ole our current front three to develop do you think the result would be the same?
Fabinho is, Henderson is basically a peak Darren Fletcher, wijnaldum is probably underrated.
but you have missed my point, which for your board isn't hard.
if you were building a team of best premier league players in midfield, maybe you'd take Fabinho as DM but I guarantee no other fan and maybe the less blinkered of yours would take Henderson and wijnaldum, because they aren't creative, they carry the water for the front 3, cover back for the rampaging full backs. that's what they do.

I wanted Liverpool to sign him. I think he'll be a top PL player by the end of next season. Unfortunately.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep. I think he looked pretty good considering he’s had max 1 training session with his team, he dominated the play in the first half but tailed off in the second half.
He’s also someone who will benefit greatly from Pogba coming back, as that’ll be another player in midfield who can actually get on the ball and dictate play.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Pogba is generally pretty poor at dictating play. Atleast when looked at a team overall. He’s good at putting cutting passes in, and final balls, but he lacks tactical awareness and the brain to be the full run of the team. He will however offer some foul for Bruno and has the skill to link well with him, but don’t expect him to control games.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fair enough. I do think him and Bruno will greatly benefit playing together though. If Pogba comes back for you that is.
And your midfield will be much stronger, they need a bit more movement ahead of them though. Far too static at times
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I would agree in an attacking sense, but will be weaker defensively. Pogba isn’t renown defensively, does stupid things when deep too, and disent bother tracking back at times. Bruno looks more I’d a fighter but is essentially a forward looking player, which leaves mct it Fred, preferably mct as he’s a reall important player for us now and can do a bit of everything. But it may make us less solid, at the benefit of being better going forward.
Might be best if we let Pogba get his move and get a more disciplined but tactically aware midfielder in. Who knows?
Fernandes and Pogba together in midfield would never work, the opposition would have a field day with the amount of space they'd leave in behind.
Mind you at least it would make United more interesting to watch in a rather chaotic way.
