And yet with their model they won the league with their previous two managers
===============================

Because they had a great team. But didnt enjoy the same level of success as under pep, why? Because pep is the best.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Not quite the same, but let's not exaggerate. Before Guardiola they had won 2 out of the last 5 titles; under him they're heading for 2 out of 4. It's not a dramatic improvement in success levels, although I'd certainly agree that Pep has improved them.

Where your original comment was so wrong was putting in the word 'stability'. Even if it's impossible to sustain the magic ingredient that Guardiola adds, there's nothing unstable about him being temporary when the overall long-term planning before, during and after his employment is so coherent.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Prior to that, they did not have this liverpool team to compete with, if they hadnt they would be on course for 3 in a row.

A domestic treble is also not to be sniffed at

But Ed says his long term plan is being implemented so we’re all good.
++

Yes, but quite clearly Ed's policy up to recently was the revolving door policy of hiring, spending with/for, and inevitably firing, failing managers.

Ed and the owners have had a recent epiphany imo and suddenly realised the need for the club to actually have a vision, just like City (and Liverpool) have had, to work to. Except City owners employed football people (Football directors in you like) to formulate their plan.... not an Ed!

Ole can only do and influence Ed's grand plan as much as Ed and his bosses will allow him.

Liverpool didnt have a vision until klopp was employed, yet again its almost as i appointing the best managers pays dividends.

LVG wasnt a good manager for a long time before he rocked up and mourinho wasnt backed accordingly but still delivered our best seasons post fergie and delivered trophies.

Still feel for jose.

It’s embarrassing that we have ole as manager when our rivals have pep and klopp and even Everton have good manager who is much better than Ole. It’s very poor
----------------------------------------------------------------------

We had Jose, one of the biggest names in football. We were still shocking.

I have a sneaking admiration for the way Stretty digs in when he says something so demonstrably wrong despite universal derision and overwhelming evidence. He's like Winston without GCSEs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

are you suggesting that city panned for the long term when they employed a manager they knew wouldn't be there long than 5 years?

Wrong Adam - Jose was done when he joined us and I said that from the first day. Lvg was old and on the decline.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

and fell out with everybody, drew the will to live out of most of the supporters and left the club as a laughing stock clinging on at the top table of european football
