Relegation teams have had 2/3rds of the season to get safe, dont really have a leg to stand on. yes they might have their better fixtures to c ome in the remaining 9 games but again nothings guarenteed theyd survive with them anyway and someone has to lose out and that comes down to luck of the draw which is done randomly by a machine before a balls even kicked. its a hell of a lot fairer than calling it off and keeping teams who've played two thirds of a season down and out.
Why would you punish leeds fulham etc over villa? theyve earned their right, whereas villa etc havent hence theyre in relegation spots after 2/3rds of a season.
I dont believe itll be called off, it doesnt make sense to, suspended and finished in the summer if anything, or crawl over the line for the remaining 2 months behind closed doors.

“ CANCEL THE PL. THINK OF THE ELDERLY.”
No one’s forcing the elderly to go to the game. Is they’re worried about their health stay at home and scrub their hands with Oven Pride.Simple.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's not about the elderly attending
I'm wanting the PL to cease immediately to stop the spread of the virus which ultimately affects the elderly and the ill.
The world is bigger than Liverpool
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And cease it may. Then resume when the worst of it is over.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That could be months. How will the PL cram so many games in the height of summer, during the transfer window, during players holidays and possibly the Euros.
Just wipe the slate clean and forget about this season. We go again in September
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If it could take months then there's no guarantee next season will start as scheduled so might as well just finish this one.
The logical solution is, if required, cancel Euro 2020 to next year, extend the domestic seasons into the summer, begin next season late, try and squeeze games in over a normal season length to end on time or more or less in May 2021
TBH its not that different to when Qatar have the 2022 World Cup and domestic seasons will cease for 5-6 week through Nov-Dec

thats true, but logically, pretty much 2/3rds into a season it'd be fairer ending everything as it stands now than erasing 2/3rds of all the hard work.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What about Villa?
They have played a games less than those around them and if they win the game in hand they climb out of the relegation zone.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Him & tooth bloke are $hitting themselves that the season is cancelled is a genuine possibility
If they made Liverpool champions now then they’d have to relegate Norwich, villa & Bournemouth, which would have huge financial implications for all three clubs. The legal ramifications that would ensue would far belittle awarding Liverpool a title so I’d imagine the governing bodies would be more inclined to just bin this season off, & that’s without considering the European places up for grabs.
Reset to where everyone was first day of this season is the only viable proposition

The Leadership contest has not been postponed though, the result will be announced on the same day that it would have been anyway.
was watching some WHO doctor on the news at lunch and she was insisting that it would be best to have a blanket ban on all sporting activities right now.
She added that it might not be a case of just self isolating for a couple of weeks and could be until December to be pretty safe.
So just cancel the football season now and start afresh in December/January. Play half a season of fixtures. Maybe carry over half this seasons points totals.
