So pubs clubs sporting events and restaurants are on the final green light to come on with Gov.UK's secret traffic light system for getting back to normal.
Somebody is going to have to have a word in the EFL's shell like the Queen has cancelled her trooping and gun salute for her birthday bash the Eurovision venue is now a hospital there's a reason why sports and pubs are last to go on line isn't there it's a secret so I can't say here

I see that the Portsmouth boss has had a rant regarding some clubs at the bottom of the league and others in no mans land around the middle of the table are trying to get out of finishing the season. He also complains that they are asking the EFL to pay them for their losses. Of course, his team is in sixth place and he must fancy them to get into the playoff finals and win promotion.

It was always going to happen and he could be forgiven for wanting the season to be finished. My gripe with him is that it's a selfish self-promoting rant in which he makes no mention of the safety issues not only for the players and other staff that could be infected but also for the wider public not forgetting the families of the players and staff who will be forced to be involved in putting these games on. This self-centered man needs to be careful of what he wishes for.

Sports writers for all the local papers must be having a hard time trying to think of something to send in for publication I'm sure turning over most of the sports pages to kids games colouring and cartoons would be a good idea it might keep us football fans interested in reading the sports pages and help us out with this boredom.

Training and playing while wearing face masks isn't good enough.
What we want to see if football is to return behind closed doors is players wearing olde fashion diving suits with big brass diving helmets on their heads.
Got to be worth a fiver to watch that and if we made them change into It's a knockout giant foam suits at HT it would give the viewing figures a boost.
We'd probably pick up more points than expected as well.

Pasty, If that happened, I would make a rare trip to the UniBol.

On a more serious note, how do the people who suggested that the players should wear masks think that they would cope? It's a physical game and players need to get oxygen flowing into their lungs freely. It really is a stupid idea which would not work.

If the EFL wants to spread the virus, playing football before the problem is beaten is a great way to do it. I sincerely hope that the government stops any contact sports from taking place before the problem has been negated. If it's possible to finish the season safely, so be it, but lives matter more than football.

I don't think it's been thought out fully yet they have not mentioned the half time sandwiches who's doing the shopping and making of them and do we have enough of those litter picking sticks for each player to be able to remain a safe distance while trying to grab a sandwich.
Perhaps this could be done on the pitch while wearing giant foam suits as well making it like an egg and spoon race but call it sandwich on a stick you run with your stick grab and sandwich and run back then try to place it on your plate.

Just been out for a walk. It is very hot outdoors. We only saw one other couple walking and that was when we re-entered the park. It was very peaceful and tranquil, just the birds singing and an odd wild duck quacking.

These last two weeks around 7:00 pm, there have been four or five rabbits chasing each other in front of the lodge. We always have a few pheasants foraging for food but the last few nights we've had a very light hen pheasant looking for food under a large tree in front of the lodge. it's good to see something pleasant instead of listening to the depressing news.

Keith Hill has been catching up on the latest technology in an attempt to improve his lowest win ratio of his management career. How’s he doing this is very complex and technical as it requires a television and watching hours of the 24/7 Looney Tunes channel. Keith has managed it and has ordered 100 ACME Offside Traps guaranteed to trap anything offside including any Wile E Coyote

Job done and now Keith is reading up on how to break the news of a wage cap to his wife she has always knitted all his special lucky hats and fears a domestic backlash should he start wearing a wage cap.

KH has been awol since the closedown. Is this typical of all managers?

It's not that I want him to start doing interviews and his comments being posted in the Beano, I think we are better off without that. So no complaints from me. It's just another surreal aspect of this lockdown that things have changed considerably. Some for the better.

All playing and football staff are on media lockdown.

Is that to stop the rumours of a new Kwik-E-Mart being built in BL6 when a sports stadium is no longer required.
The lower leagues could be in a right old mess for many years to come while things reach a more financially manageable level will team Sharon and Emma stick it out or cash in on a Kwik-E-Mart

Sky's losses are Netflix's gains there's going to be lots of little ripple effects running through all sports after all this.
Who's still paying the Sky price for their sports channels these days ?

posted on 23/4/20

I've not got sky but got BT sport chucked in with my internet. Getting 2 months discount but been some old football shown and decent sports films so worth keeping. Also got 6 months free britbox. Also YouTube with new bits popping up all the time, plenty to watch.

I see the BEN are struggling and trying hard to raise some cash.
I was tempted to ring and ask how much for home delivery of the winner of the the worlds most typo award for ten years running before it disappears but decided I'll take a chance and see if its still on the news stands when I eventually make a trip back to blighty.

Until then I've deployed the cookie monster and ad blocker so I can read the typo's in peace I must say the caption with the first loco works picture is wonderful.

Last home game of the season today

posted on 25/4/20

It's a great day for a game of football.

I see the EFL has sent an email to the trust. The outcome is still as clear as mud. However, its plan is still to finish the season depending on government advice.

Rotherham h. Always have a p1ss up last home game. Shirt sleeves and shorts day too. Sigh.

Fa cup quarter final v Birmingham. Everything started to go wrong after that game but what a day to be a bolton fan https://youtu.be/5L0kF19qETM

We could do with an injury update how many players have tripped or fallen over cats and Tonka toys while in isolation no doubt we'll have a couple out with back injuries after having a go at hanging out the washing.

I had a program for that game but a young lad down the road from me called David, was the lucky recipient of that one and all other programs that I had. including the first one for the Reebok.

Not a lot of news except that the EFL has made a statement regarding that they are looking at testing kits and other safety measures for restarting football. With another day yesterday, with well over another 700 deaths due to the virus, I think they are p!$$!ng in the wind. Just my own point of view.

Has someone taken over swie's account? That is the first time I have seen him using swear words.

Good share with the programme. The efl are just low towing to sky to keep the money. The 56 day plan won't work. Another plan mentioned this morning no relegation (we are stay up ) and the top 8 in each league to play off, 2 go up and the season after 5 go down. The greatest escape ever.
