Then again, we are putting up to 250,000 people on the roads who, by and large, don't know what they are doing, won't be managed in any meaningful way and, no doubt, many of them will be carrying the disease.
===============
You obviously didn't sign up? If you had you would know that you get clear guidance on what you are asked to do, with clear guidance on how to go about it and clear guidance on how to deal with issues etc.
It's easy to just sit there and criticise
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I didn't sign up. I'm already pretty busy and i'm making my contribution.
FFS...the myth that people are able to follow guidance has surely been dispelled in the past week.
I'm not criticising anyone who signs up. Quite the reverse.
I'm making the point that I hope that they get the guidance and support that they need. With 250,000 people involved, things will go wrong.
This seems to have been rushed through (and I understand why). When this fails, like when someone gets the wrong medicine or people are infected by a donor (which will likely happen) we can't expect the volunteers to pay the price.
So pipe down. I'm just raising legitimate concerns. I thought that was still allowed.

My brother in law just said he saw an old woman walking past theirs with a mask on, walking her little terrier of some kind, also wearing a mask

Are you still forcing your way into cineworld and putting DVD on?

Raising legitimate concerns on something that hasn't happened and which needs an urgent action on it?
Sometimes, you need to act quickly and plan as you go, addressing whatever as and when it happens. The worst thing to do is to just speculate for the sake of it.
I am only saying this because if you can'r help that's fine, but don't criticise a movement which is trying to bring help too those who need it the most.
PM on TV daily briefing. 405K people have now volunteered to help within the past 24 hours. BBC bashing them for there being insufficient testing kits. It only goes to prove that with 300+ BBC employees earning twice, three times - ten times what the PM earns, wouldn’t it have been better if they were in charge of the country? I mean they are all top, top people. They would have realised long ago - years ago, no doubt - that this deadly disease was in the pipeline and would have had the kits ready.
Not.
In better news, I see that ‘brewery shops’ are allowed to be open. These micro breweries are mini pubs by another name aren’t they? Surely they can’t be open can they?

Amazing, we may well be selfish people in day to day life, looking after number one.
But this level of altruism is amazing.
It is to be commended that so many have signed up. But surely they would all have to be tested before they started whatever voluntary task they were going to be doing.
