Just let that sink in a minute - WHY was he trying to break it?

.......

Why wouldn’t he be? Do you think BA should have been the only Airline allowed to have a transatlantic route to the USA? To be able to charge what ever fares they wanted and did?

Branson became hugely poular when he broke BA's monoply, I certainly became one of his fans after I learnt about BA's tactics.

What's more, he gave me the oppurtunity to vist NYC for about £130.

And since then he’s tried to sue The NHS, given his staff 8 weeks unpaid leave and is now trying to scrounge taxpayer cash despite being a multi billionaire.

Total f*cking parasite.

I have no idea why ‘Keep it Greasy’ could possibly have an issue with Branson doing that what so ever. It opened it up for other airlines as well as his own.

Sizz

Do you know why he sued the NHS and what he did with the 2 million he was awarded as a ruling of the court case?

Virgin Care? F*ck off mate.

posted on 28/3/20

You do know that Virgincare don’t take any profit from their NHS contracts and that Branson reinvested what he won in the lawsuit back into the NHS?

My guess is you didn’t know that.

For VC...

Dr Lister, secretary and health policy academic at the group Keep Our NHS Public, said: “Virgin continues to play a parasitic role in the NHS, fragmenting services and poaching NHS-trained staff and undermining nearby NHS trusts.

This is made worse by the fact that the company pays no corporation tax and therefore only takes resources from the public sector while contributing nothing of value.

“The fact the firm is not making a profit suggests its continued involvement with the NHS is either based on ideological opposition to public services or a series of loss leader contracts hoping to force the prices up and cash in later.”

......

Why? You could also say the same about the NHS commissioners who had carried out dubious contract awards, knew they had done so and set the award of the law suit to Branson themselves.

I once met Rolf Harris but I wouldn’t hire him as a babysitter

None of this makes Branson a .

He isn’t making any profits off the NHS. That is factual. You only have one disgruntled person suggesting why he isn’t making a profit. Not proof of why.

The fact is he isn’t when he easily could.

Now copy and paste exactly what I said Robb. Don’t lower yourself to 1982 being a lying sack of $hit.

Not sure about the last couple of years, but it was well documented that a couple of years ago Virgin Care services made about 10 mil profit from it’s NHS contracts.
Seem to remember him paying no corporation tax on that profit because he funnelled it through another subsidiary of Virgin.

You don’t get it or you refuse to. People like yourself who excuse this without seeing between the lines will allow the NHS to be privatised through the back door.

Virgin care doesn't break even

Well the shell company does, because as with all bransons businesses the profits are funneled through several other businesses via inter company loans to his holding company on his private island

Its amazing how few people understand this sort of thing, Bransons only real money he earnt was with virgin music, everything else has been funded through state contracts break up of state assets and grants. The man's a parasite. A very nice man no doubt, but he found the key to extracting taxpayer money and has run with it.

Hes the sort of man we left the eu for, running away just before the tax avoidance directives came in to. Land.

You are being.a drama queen again Robb. People like me have no say in the running of the NHS. I would never want to see the NHS privatised.

But I don’t want to see it being incompetently run by bad practices from its own commissioners.

I have the exact same issue with the people who supply the MoD as well.

For a minute I am not suggesting Branson is a beacon of light in this ever depressing world. I am sure he isn’t.

I am still to be convinced that he is satan though.

With regards to the nhs no private service put in to date has run a service cheaper than the NHS itself.

A few years ago Private ambulances answered 1/3rd of NHS calls and took home 2/3rds of the annual budget.

Virgin care took over child cancer services in Swindon and forced the families to re-register their ill children with them or lose their pre arranged appointment slots.

the suing the NHS thing is some what hyperbole

the NHS cost virgin a lot fo money with an incorrect tendering process which held up in court

many, many business' sue each other when they fail to adhere to the rules they set out in their RFQ's

look at Microsoft/amazon and the US fed recently

Just read that there could be up to 1 Million Brits stranded abroad.

Surely the Government could deploy some of the grounded aircraft and crews to repatriate them like other countries are doing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
your average plane holds what...500 passengers, & you'd have have to halve that for contamination spacing then they would have to get permission to land in these countries,

I'd agree we should be looking to get some back from the more far flung places where lives might be in danger...but it's a huge ask
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Big planes where you come from

The A380 - 800 can hold well over 800
